i realize it is just my opinion. that's why i specified it was MY opinion. i am positive it is shared by many others, but that is a moot point, so what is the problem?

sorry, i'll take a c5z06 with cash left over.

Are you speaking Canadian dollars? They are low to high 20s used in local auto traders. Low miles.

Aside from your post being damn near un-readable, here is what I think you are trying to say:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Evos have bad depreciation and I paid 100 bucks for a tranny filter on a Mazda and you wont convince me to buy an Evo.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1)Evos depreciate pretty similarly to other sub-40K performance cars.
2)Who the **** cares about Mazda filter prices? Does Mazda have anything in common with Mitsu? They are owned by Ford. I had a bad master cylinder on an old Explorer. Does that make a SRT8 crap? I certanly dont think so. It makes about as much sense as what you said though.
3)Nobody on here tried to convince anyone to buy an Evo. A few people corrected some blatant bullshit. Big difference. I dont plan on getting one either. I dont feel threatened. Its OK.

I love how some people on here will spout some mis information, then others will wrap themselfs in the flag of LS1tech when somebody corrects them.

Here, this is just for you Sparetire
1.You can get help with your dyslexia, or maybe your screen just needs to be cleaned.
2.That fact that you like to put words in others post, says alot about your confrontational personality.
3. I didnt say he was trying to covince anyone to buy an evo, you did.
4. Are Mazda and Mitsubishi domestic vehicles?
5. Hmm... No they are not, so they have at least one thing in common.
6. Non-domestics, tradionally have higher costs for parts and service.
7. When were you threatend, I didn't read that anywhere.
8. The only flag i wrap myself in is the Amercan flag.
9. Go try to insult someone else
10. Next time you try to think what someone is saying, don,t you dont posses that particular ability.

you're on LS1tech. that means you are on a domestic muscle car forum. why are you trolling the forums trying to convert guys over to japanese FI pseudo-performance econobox shopping carts?

see what i just said? that is what the average guy's reaction is around here. we drive muscle cars because we hate turboed rice. your opinions and sales pitches aren't going to be well received here regardless of what you say, so why are you even bothering? trying to sell us on an evo is like trying to get a dead horse to win a race. it's just not going to happen.

take your sales pitch elsewhere. all you are doing is pointing out how incredibly immature and insecure the japanese pseudo-performance car fanbase is. this is why people that look like they're in a casting call for "the fast and the furious" get a bad wrap.

a very specific demographic buys evo's. they're usually teens whose parents have money, say "yo" several times in every sentence, are very skinny and are typically asian/white guys that act like they're way more ghetto than the parents who bought them the car. no one really likes these people and the phony "tough guy" facade they put on. even their phony friends don't really like them. they all just hang out because no one else will have them. people keep them around because it's amusing when they take out 6 feet of vertical curb and 3 street signs losing control while drifting through a rite aid parking lot.

they get no respect for a reason: most of them don't deserve any. face it, an evo is a kid's car. i doubt you're going to see any senior engineers or CEO's driving around in a lancer...or anyone over the age of 24 for that matter. that's why so many evo's are for sale with such low miles: the kids get them when they're 17, then they turn 20 and realize they're too old for the car.

maybe you're one of the special ones that actually owns an evo and doesn't fit into that group. maybe you even paid for it yourself, which would be incredibly rare and a breath of fresh air. congrats if you are, but judging by what you've said so far, i have a feeling you're lumped in there somewhere. have fun racing through parking garages. don't ding my car if i happen to be parked in there

btw, this isn't just directed toward you and it surely isn't hostile. you have a WS6 in your sig, maybe you don't even own an evo, who knows. this is for anyone in this forum that owns an evo and only comes into threads where an f-body or y-body or whatever beats one. what i just said is what the average person around here thinks, whether they admit it or not.

lol, you guys are crazy!!! im not taking sides cause i love both, but im going to blame the drivers in most cases for the evos and their slower times. like it was said before, ive seen them run high 12's with just a simple and low cost reflash. they just have to learn how to use the awd.

sack, lol.

Go onto Honda-tech and troll the kill stories section. You'll realize that most of the regulars don't even own Hondas.

Not $18K, but my Z28 was $21K (and change) brand spanking new, in 2000. It could be done, IF you optioned/ordered it right, which BTW also made it even lighter/faster AND more reliable stock OR modded.
I've asked this before, and I am STILL waiting for an answer from the importfanboyzz; What Nippon import nameplate (or ANY foreign nameplate) could I have bought, BRAND NEW in 2000 for that price that would have equaled this car's performance STOCK FOR STOCK ??! I guess none have answered because they CANNOT come up with one.

Speed isn't the only thing to look at when considering what to buy (for most people, that is)... if you use that mindset, then the F-body was a better performane deal than the Corvette. And that's ridiculous.

Im trying to understand an incoherent post. Twice now in fact. Nothing more.

I said he wasnt trying to sell Evos. So whos putting words in whos mouth? Take a look at statement number 2. You doing what you accuse me of.

Mazda and Mitsu have about as much in common as Ford and DCX. hence my example. So your statement about Mazda filter prices is stupid and irrelevant. Thats the point. Nice job trying to gloss over that.

I said I was'nt threatened. Again, read number 2, look in the mirror, and think before posting.

Im not insulting you. Im pointing out flawed logic. If that causes you to post a pseudo-intelectual blurb as done above, maybe you should think about why.

And as far as #10....Hugh? Dyslexia indeed.

I said before. I will say it again. Nobody on here is trying to push anything on you. So dont accuse them of it. You did in the post I quoted before. I'll point it out in my next post so that you dont get confused or try to twist it around.

There it is. In your amazing and well meausred words:

"WTF good luck winning us over"

Nobody tried to win any one over.

As for the rest of it. How can you even defend that pile of crap post with a strait face? Seriously.

so if i join a honda forum and rant on and on about how my car will mop the floor with theirs, has a better resale value, looks better, whatever...no one will get mad at me?

c'mon...because that's the point i'm trying to make.
