Who does that in here? Show me any post anywhere EVER where anyone claims the Evo looks better than an F-Body . Not even Evo guys claim that AFAIK. I guess in like importzgirlzhawtnezzz.net forums maybe.

I will say this, one DSM forum I am on has had several threads about small blocks. This is closed forum, only for people running a certain engine management program. So everyone on there is a DSMer. The SBC/LS1 threads were in the side show misc forum. I dont think I saw a single LS1 hater in those threads. One guy was contemplating buying a C5. Most of us recomended he go for it.

Last I checked this was a "performance" oriented site, so bringing up interior styling/materials, etc. is TOTAL on here! If you are talking about reliability and gas mileage; my Z28 had been DEAD ON RELIABLE for >100K miles, and gets >20 mpg city and >30 mpg highway. AGAIN, name me ONE of the Nippon Import nameplates you worship sooo vehemently that even comes close to matching this performnace/mileage/reliability combo, for that price, stock to stock?? I'm waiting.

He's right anyway. I see a lot of people who actually got their car only so they would win at stupid highschool stop light races. Most people on here have F-Bodies because they like the car, which is awesome. Its an easy car to like/enjoy/run anyway. But I have seen a lot of people out in the world who have car X because its fast (in a very narrow aspect of performance) and like car Y in every single other way more. So basicly they are so afraid to loose that they drive a car they dont really like. Which is pathetic. No other word for it.

 

If you tell me you only bought your car to go as fast as possible for as cheap as possible, you're either a liar or an idiot. If you had only that requirement in car, you'd be driving a foxbody. And this is funny... people so far on this site have called me a "Mustang guy" AND a "Nippon Import nameplate worshipper." drove my sisters boyfriends evo8 when it first came out. Shot like a canon out of the hole, but wasnt impressed above 80. Wish she didnt break up with him, i loved to beat the hell out of his car. When its not yours and someones says get on it, i tried to kill the damn thing. All out thought it ran good!

 

Yeah, stock the VIII's arent that great from a roll. Simple MBC and tune helps though. XI's are much better in that aspect.

 

well I know from personal expierience that the EVO is not for everyone,I had a 06 MR I was doing **** to the car to try to make me like it better but........it didnt help,I only had the car for alittle over a year,and I really started hating the car,though it was fun to drive It really was not my type of car,so that being said I bought the car I should have got in the first place a Z06.
oh lets talk about the respect thing in the Evo 0 except from 15 year old kids
the Z06 I think I get a look and or a thumbs up everyday.
I'm not trying to take anything away from the people that do drive an Evo,but man that car was not me in any way.just wanted to share my opinion of owning the Evo MR,man I really wish I would have never got rid of my SS,but then again I might not have my Z06.....

I'm gonna get flamed for this, but I kinda like EVO's. Some of them are pretty bad *** ie. Buschur Racing. I just like fast cars in general, I don't really care if it's domestic or import (as long as their not riced out with tri-level farbon ciber wings, and retarded looking body kits, etc.) I sometimes wish my car was AWD too.....let the pummeling continue.

So, this is NOT a performance site/forum?? WOW, did I accidentally log on to Camry.com or TOY.com? Last I checked speed=performance (and yes, you're right that includes turning left and right, and braking, and turn-in, etc. Next you will be telling me that NO f bodies can do this as well? ).

Most of the time your posts are informative, well written, and somewhat unbiased (except when you're defending/deifying your precious imports). But to call me an "asshat" because I'm SICK and F'ing tired of the importfanboyzz getting on domestic nameplates' cases because they feel that their import's interior is of better quality/"feel" is just uncalled for. I never called him an azzhat, I just said he seems to be giving the same arguements that they do (the Camry owning BITOGers), so he sounds just like them.

BTW, I did NOT buy this car because I was "afraid to lose", as you put it. I bought it because it fit ALL of my needs at the time, BRAND NEW, for the least amount of cash/aggravation. And HELL YES, one of those needs was buying a domestic nameplate over an Asian/foreign one (unlike most on here ).
So I'm STILL waiting to hear what all of you importfanboyzz think I should have bought from your "Nippon Giants", for the same performance and price, NEW, instead.

I will agree with you on the foxbody, USED and modded, of course. I don't recall ANY bone stock 2000 'stangs in the 12s, although they may have been on close to equal terms in the handling department.

BTW; I am the LAST person in this UNIVERSE to put you down for driving a 'stang (I go back to when it was ONLY Ford vs. Chevy/Camaro vs. Mustang, NONE of this import crap, and even back then I could not understand the bashing/hatred between the two camps, as I loved BOTH brands!! ). I was just curious as to why you were not driving the import you so seem to desire, instead of the 'stang?

 

Well I had to decide if I cared more about raw torque/cheap modding, or a nice refinement/speed mix... but I couldn't afford a 350Z/G35 coupe, so I went with the torque thing. And then I couldn't find an F-body/GTO in the right price range that was the right year/mileage, so I got the Mustang. It's not that I "desire" an import... there are just alot of import cars that are nice.
