Default Ran a s/c stang

Had my car almost 2 years and never had a good story to post ;[ anyways I finally got a good run.

With the girlfriend and I see a 97ish? yellow vert stang roll by in front of us and I can hear that wonderful whistle sound from his blower. I asked her if I could go see what this guy was all about so I took a right behind him. Somehow we catch up to him very quickly and immediately catch a red together.

As soon as I pull up I can hear this thing loping and it sounds pretty sweet First thing he says is "wanna run em? my sons been waiting for this forever" I just laugh and say sure but you are gonna work me. He asked what I have and I reply full boltons (lid,tb,intake,lts,duals,drs)...He comes back with some smart comment about how he's boltons too cause he "bolted on a supercharger".

Light turns green and we both burn them up, I catch before him and pull about a car but he has to shutdown at about the top of 2nd because of some clown going about 20 mph. There was a series of rolls after this our cars ran identically, when I got the hit I would hold him off 1/2-1 cars and when he got the hit it was the opposite. After this we pull along side each other and he asks "come on...what do you really have in there", "boltons" I say. He asks me this 2-3 more times before he believes me and we throw the thumbs and go our separate ways.

Don't know much about those mod motors but I thought a boosted one should put the hurt on me fairly easily. Though I'm not sure if this dude could drive or not (I was powershifting). The guy was pretty cool and they were some pretty good runs

gt supercharged with 8 psi will be around 350 rwhp. plus their power band sucks. Before i did the sc and built motor i walked one with just boltons.

Well the problem is that was a non-PI (96-98) GT. He could have basic bolt-ons and the blower, and still be barely over 300rwhp. So good run

I'm back from a ''mustang show'' in town and a sc 05 GT made 350whp auto...the guy said it has the potential for 380 but heh...it did what it did.

Some sc setup are very mild, too much in my opinion.

I always wondered what the cams are like on the GTs. Seems like they just choke and die up top in stock form. Pretty damn stupid IMHO. Ford goes with the OHC route, then shoots itself in the foot by 1) sticking with 2 valves and 2) running really conservative cams to preserve the low-end TQ that they could have had with a modern Windsor with more cubes and the same external dimensions.

If I built a new OHC engine, I would not be focusing on 5000RPM and below. I'd be all over 4500 and up.

No offense to anyone, my not getting it probably reflects my failure, not a few thousand engineers.

Supercharged 05 only made 350? He must be running 5 lbs of boost. A friend of mine has an 05 with a non intercooled supercharger that made 466.

A non pi supercharged car probably made about 315 at the wheels.

stock cam profiles on 2 valves suck. dont make any power over 5k.

depends on the blower. non intercooled setups are usually in the 350 ballpark but i have seen as high as 387 on 8psi with a procharger

I know its not every 05+GT that is making low ball numbers with a SC. There was that Jack Roush that made 740whp with a Procharger!! I'm just thinking that its weird to get a SC and not getting over 400whp. But the guy was older and maybe he just want little bit more power without screwing the warranty or the car...

Get bolt-ons instead of mild sc setup IMO.

I ran away from a S/C GT with just a TR224 cam and bolton's in my old LS1 Camaro(RIP). I have seen a few S/C GT's that didn't make a lot of power but not all of them are that way. Good kill.

96-98 SC GT's will usually dyno about 330rwhp. Stock they dyno in the 180hp range.

After driving my friend's 01 gt with headers, xpipe, and exhaust I was shocked at the lack of topend. I really almost couldn't believe it. But good kill to the OP.
