Re: anybody race a cop car? I raced one from a roll with my 88 GTA with 5 people in it and I pulled on him alittle. My GTA ran a best of 15.29 so i wasnt that impressed.

Re: anybody race a cop car? Just yesterday, I was on the Beltway with the suckyass Bose radio jammin' Doin' about 95. There was a slight lull in the song and noticed the radar detector was about to melt down. I look up and see a County Sheriff in the mirror lights ablaze. Pulled me over and said it took him quite awhile to catch me.....That fine fellow let me go.

You can't outrun his radio. 
Are you talking about the Camaros with the B4C police package? They're advertised at 310 hp and they have the GU5 option--3.42's, better driveshaft, blah blah blah. I guess if you've got any mods you could beat them. But then they would pull you over and make you look like a real jackass. The V6 Impalas aren't bad, nor are the 4.6 SOHC Crown Vickys, but neither of them are a match for an LS1.

They were 3 in the car and the trunk was full of gear[guns/vests/EMT gear] but they ran anyway.
They had never staged before so took a while to explain how it works.
The lights came down and I was off like a rocket,he had a lousy R.T. but left anyway,it was really cute because as soon as I took off he put his lights and siren on[nifty].
I ran mid 13. he ran 18.78 at 70 mph.
My wife videoed the run and it is one of my best souvenirs!!!!!!!!

Re: anybody race a cop car? I ran a Chicago cop from a lite on Western Avenue four years ago when the old 98SS M6 was in 13.0 trim and I put 8 on him and then shut down in 2nd gear since I was already at the next lite. It was 4am and he egged me on and he had a C4 at home.

Re: anybody race a cop car? one time at the track near my city there was a "Kids VS. Cops" day. the cops ran their crown victorias against all the kids cars. those things were runnin low 14s

Re: anybody race a cop car? yes, my family and me have deep ties to the local police and I have many friends that are cops. I raced some of there undercover camaros they suck. There car has no back seat but tons of radio stuff it is just a Z28 with a 1LE package.

Re: anybody race a cop car? Just yesterday I was leaving work and this cop I am friends with was directly in front of me. When we made a right turn onto the main road he looked into his mirror and saw that I was riding his bumper so he punched it and so did I. At 70mph when I had to let off to make another turn I was still glued to his bumper-he didn't pull and neither did I. He was in a 01 or 02 Crown Vic and I was in my work car-01 Z-24 Cav which is bone stock. I think I surprised him.

Re: anybody race a cop car? used to street race wit the cops permission and ran one then. ate the crown vic alive. but those days are over damn ******* who decided to drink and drive one night screwed it up for every one.

My B4C has GU5... 3.23 gears.
Driveshaft is also the same as any other camaro. Its aluminum.
It did however, come with a built trans with the Corvette servo and a 2800 Stall converter! (which i just replaced witha Yank 3600
)

The GU5 option is a 3.23 GU6 is the one that specifies 3.42
My B4C has GU5... 3.23 gears.
My bad. I checked one of the Sarasota County B4C Camaros the other day and it had the GU5 option. Either way, they're better gears than my car has
According to LS1.com , the GU2 packages come with steel driveshafts and the other two come with aluminum shafts.
