405hp package bone stock C5 Z06 had 2 passengers weighing at 400 together

02 ws6 m6, longtubes, catted y, loudmouth, slp lid only driver 150 pounds(myself) untuned

first run from 50-125

I bogged the launch on 2nd gear immediately dropped a car backed and no one pulled all the way up to about 125! i admit i lose

2nd run from 50-135-140(top of 4th gear)

got a good launch banged through the gears and the z06 literally beat me by about a foot when i hit the rev limiter in 4th gear and got out of it!

so pretty damn even if i may say so myself and whoever says a bolt on ls1 cant keep up with a stock Z0 is wrong it just happened!

he had a passenger so he would have pulled me by prolly a 1/2 or so more!

good race woulda had video but the battery on the camera didnt charge! sorry!

all this was in a secluded road in mexico!! lolololol

 

You mean Z06 had 1 passenger? It would be hard to fit 2 passengers into a Z06.

How do you launch your car from a roll? and how do you bogg from a roll? All you do is mash the gas pedal to the floor...

Congratulations on keeping up with the Z06, but I wouldn't expect this to happen every time you race one.

 

Sounds about right. 2nd gear from 50 shouldn't "bog" on you though, maybe your clutch giving out??
I probably would have expected the Z to inch out a little more on the second race, but when I had the TA, i'd beat them all the time as well. Roll racing is sometimes hard to determine because it's hard to anticipate the right time to mash it, unless you go by honks or something, but even then, the person honking has the advantage because they know when it's coming.

I really don't find it all that hard to believe.. May not have been too much of a drivers race. Think about it. 02 ws6 m6, longtubes, catted y, loudmouth, slp lid only driver 150 pounds. Would you agree that car is capable of high 12's?
I was running 12.9's with drag radials and exhaust "my 2nd time to the track".
The driver is 50lbs lighter than the average driver as well, lol.

Sounds like the Z06 driver didn't know how to run good. IMO that T/A isn't going to run a 115mph trap speed, maybe 112 at the best. Good story though, gotta hate bogging the "launch" at 50mph. I once bogged from a 80mph roll!!!

 

nice runs, i had the same results vs a 02' zo when my car was bolt-ons(12.5@112.5) so i know it's possible, but everyone called bs on me too.

 

I don't think anyone is calling BS. Anything is possible and I believe that he kept up with the Z, but I wouldn't expect this outcome next time he races a Z06.

Well I know the driver of the Z06 and I know you Cam!! Brad is about my size so I know he's at least weighing in close to 300. I saw Fred and Brad last night they both said they were in the car. The Z06 had 2 passengers weighing in at around an extra 500 pounds. Fred said it was in 3rd gear and didn't hit 2nd gear and just rolled it. It was a great race from what I heard and I don't know much about the Z06's but how do they react per-say if he was to down shift into 2nd gear? Nice mod list on the WS6 Cam I thought you had an ORY your car sounds good for having cat's on it. Are you still running the stock pulley? I remember you saying you were going to slap a underdrive pulley on, I didn't know if you got it on yet or not. BTW I saw you guys at the gas station stopped in to say whats up but you blew me off so I just rolled out.. Good race!

 

Pretty much. We all know that it takes around 500whp for a terminator to be even with C6Z, but anything can happen.


This explains the outcome. Z was not in his power band... Don't understand why... I guess he was too confident and it cost him a loss to a slower car.

 

Also I was told that the Z06 started about half a car back Cam and honked 3 times you both went. He said you got a pretty good jump also. I wish I could've been there to video tape it. Sounded like a bad *** race.

 

The Z06 didn't loose the race btw.

 

i raced a 03 z06 with intake and full exhuast. at the time i had stall, gears, lid, pulley, and a catback i raced him from a 50-110 i had him at first but he rolled by not fast but still pulled he took me about 1 1/2 cars. so i can see this happening

 

yes he had the passenger and i agree he would have beat me by even more! im not sayin i won i just wanted to post the results to let everyone know!

you bog in second by not given it enough gas when u let the clutch out! easy to do not tryin to spin! and as for third or second no clue i guess jessie said he was in third? he should put it in 2nd but oh well i guess! im happy with the little bolt ons i have and bein untuned!

BTW the car went 12.90 at 110 on a 2.0 at +2500 DA the other night!

 

Just FYI...........

I was the passenger. Weight around 300 (most of it is dick since we are riding in a z06) We started in 2nd gear both times, never missed a beat, gave him the hit both times.

first run Cam fucked up and drove like a tard and got 2 cars on the hit, never reeled it in.

2nd run, gave him the hit from about 1/2 car behind, at 135 or so we pulled the 1/2 car back and put about a fender on him.

Z06 won hands down with and extra 300#'s in it. It was a fun race and for an ugly old rubbermaid container the WS6 suprised us for ONLY having longtubes and a lid. I am amazed that he picked up 100hp with headers and a lid. Anyhow good races, no tickets, no accidents and TCR won.


Camron we still on next weekend for the SS? Friday?

 

Why wouldn't you be in second when ever you started? When ever you dump the clutch like that, that's what breaks rear ends. I would also bet a nacho that you do not spin starting at 40 mph.

i was in second and i dont care if i break a rear end! lol and ill take u for a ride and and we will spin at 50 next time i see you! lol just a simple clutch dump at 50 mph its fun!

but yes it was a good race! but without the passenger he would have got me good!

im gonna try to get the SS out for next weekend! kant make ne promises though!
