I just read this whole thread and must add 600 hp probably will get close to 200 (190ish)with a car set up for top speed. My 4th gen v6 car does 150 no problem (still accelorating) and makes no where near that.

The problem is that the O.P. doesn't have a 1/4 mile trap speed or dyno result, and is guessing based upon engine parts. If he had either, that would go a long way toward proving that his car has the horsepower to make it to 200 mph. But he has neither.

My car can easily do 150 on the dyno too
As for the 3rd gen being reasonably aerodynamic...sure. Okay. Fine. Take a look at capn smokey's sig, and tell me that HIS car is reasonably aerodynamic. Oh wait...I almost forgot. He's got a "fresh" suspension, and 2 inch drop springs that he pulled out of his mom's ***. But he can't put that on until he gets his new wheels that don't stick out 40 bajillion miles. Right.

Nah, no dyno, on the Hway, there is a crappy vid of it on my fquick ( www.fquick.com/1SICK6 ) It is FI though, it has the crazy boost mod . I've never had the car on a dyno yet (i tune it on the street), probably never will. I just kind of guess (Math) what the HP is by trap speed (tad under 119mph)
Edit: in thet vid it is actually in DD set up, only traps 113or so, with the cutout open it traps 118.7.

i can't belive i read it all.
10 years ago resticker plate cars were running close to 200mph with 450-475HP don't really know what they are up to now cup cars W\O plates are around 825 give or take now.
yep they are pro built cars with a suspension that is not streetable unless you bag it or put hydralics on it. my '02 (stock suspenion and ride hieght) can give me white knuckle fever at 140 it just gets too loose turning or hitting dips it does things i am not comfortable with guess i'm just a puss.
plant the nose on the ground and catch some air off a stiff rear and i'm in.
building a car capable of this, 190 or so sounds good to me. a trans am street car
(R.I.P.) is more of a goal for me than just straight line performance. JM2FC
