yeah, but those weren't on a real dragstrip. A real dragstrip generally yields quicker times and higher trap speeds. 12.1 @ 121mph for the Z06 is fairly "slow" as well.

I thought it was a great over all review. Sure the 1320 times and mph were off...but they gave a fair and modest, yet blunt at times, review of the cars. ALL three got respect.

Thanks for the post. I enjoyed it.

I think 12.7 at 113 is dead on for the GT500..A car that heavy should get traction any were...

The C6Z06 and SRT10 Viper were only about 3 tenths off there averages though...

11.8 for the C6Z06 and 12.1 for the viper is more the norm..

Still surprising though..

This is one of MANY of the SRT10 and 2007 c6Z06 trapping nearly identical mph lately..

Not really understanding that part..

Nice vid though and it looks like the suspesion changes for the 2007 really helped a LOT..As the 2006 C6Z06 and SRT10 coupe were always within a second of each other with the coupe winning a few..

Looks like the C6Z06 beat the Vipers *** hard on the road course with a 119 VS 122 second lap time...

Gotta give props to the 2007 on the handling and GO VETTE

Doesn't the Ford make the most economic straight line useable power most efficiently?
They probably make for awesome "highway pull" types of cars for 46k, thats pretty damn nice I have to say. But not the same category as the other two. The Ford GT is their "super car". So thats IMO on that.

Anyone who shops for value vs performance would always take a z06 over a Viper. If you're just rich and blowing money, why not buy a VIPER to be special. But because the Z06 is actually competing with high dollar exotics in OVERALL performance. If you're gonna blow 80k, might as well save the money and go z06. Dodge blows either way IMO.

You're kidding right? Since a car is heavy, it must be able to get traction?
You must make this stuff up as you go along. Your posts give
me a headache.

Killemall, quit putting spaces between every ******* sentence!! I hate to read your posts even when they are intelligible because 3 sentences takes up half a ******* page. And yes, Z06>Viper.

Did you see them launch that thing. It was all over the place. Gt500's should be a good run with a C5Z (low 12's).

cool vid. I have run a few stock GT500's, they all ran between 12.3-12.5, decent but not much competition. The on pullied one I ran was different...I just walked him, and would guess it was on par with a GenIII viper, as I walked him about the same way I do stock GenIII's.

I like the cars, just think people are stupid for paying over MSRP for them.

The 2007 viper is old news. The 2008 is a complete different animal. It's certainly faster than the c6z06 and retains it's same price tag. Both chevy and dodge are releasing other versions of each. It wil be interested no doubt.

It was obvious in that video just how much traction the heavy GT500 got.
You are the most retarded person that ever posted on LS1tech.

$90,000 for a piece of V10 crap that won't take a $43,000 car with merely a pulley and tune.

Viper @ $90,000 or the hands-down performance winner @ $70,000? I'd personally buy the GT500. BUT I could buy the Z06, and have enough money for a paid vacation to Hawaii and have my Z06 air-freighted over to kick your ***.

DAYUM...

Look GT500 lovers...

Your mustang shoudlnt even be in the comparison..

The Z06 trapped 121 mph..
The Viper trapped 120 mph
Your gt500 trapped 113 mph..

It's not on par with the C5Z06..As I recall it was on par with the LS2 base C6 and actually lost that mag race as well by a tenth..

The GT500 is a slow ugly POS..

I wanted that car to trapp high teens man...

Instead

EVAN SMITH RAN THE GT500 TO A 12.2 AT 117 MPH

WHEN EVAN SMITH ONLY RUNS A 12.2 AT 117 MPH THAT MEANS THAT THE CAR WILL REALLY RUN 12.5-12.7 AT 112-115 MPH WITH AVERAGE DRIVERS...

tHE CAR IS slowwwwwwww...

113 vs 120-121 MPH TRAPPS IN A SAME DAY/SAME DRIVER/SAME TRACK COMPARISON IS AN ASSSSWHOOPING..

The FGT should have been in this race..It would have likely trapped 122 mph

Look...The C6Z06 ran 0-60 in 4.0 in this test..But it has done 3.5 in other test..

The SRT10 ran 0-60 in 4.3 in this test..But it has done 3.7 in other test

They were both a half second slower than there best 0-60's...

The Gt500 on the other hand ran 0-60 in 4.5 seconds...From the publications Ive read 0-60 in 4.5 seconds for the GT500 is pretty good...If it's ran faster 0-60's in any main stream mags than please post them..

If not STFU and stop trying to compare it to the 120 mph trapping Viper and 121 mph trapping C6Z06 when it trapped 113 mph...

Why dont you go compare a 103 mph trapping STI to a 111 mph trapping 03 Cobra...

See how uncomparable that is...

Same differance when comparing a 113 mph trapping mustang to a 120 mph trapping Viper or 121 mph trapping Z06.
