Default Ran a TERMINATOR today!

His car 03 terminator conv. stick(details to follow)
my car 00 Camaro z28 stick(details to follow)

Ok .. i want to give you some quick set up.. Me and this guy in my town ran when we were both stock motors w/bolt ons.. i had posted twice about it.. one both car are stick two i worked at the race track at the time.. I punished him allot .. he barley ran 8.80s in the 8th could not drive the car.. i ran 850s and mid 840s .. and could cut a .500 light still have faded slip LOL

Well. i blew my motor and had to build one.. 6.0l all the goodies voodoo cam.. ect .. my car made 386/386 on a mustang dyno and just got the car back ... as i leave my shop he pulls up .. sounds good, but the same to me ..( WRONG ) .. so i show him my car .. and say something about running.. he says now, here .. im like yeah .. so we go out on the freeway ..( now im thinking same car a few more bolt ons..) i give him the Hit ... my car still has less than 500miles on it so im still rolling into the throttle (not an excuse, i told him this before we left)

BAM .. he JUMPS out half a car by time im in the throttle fully.. i stop his gain, we shift, and I dont think im gaining on him?? ( JAWDROP ) he misses a shif i go by ... We were dead even .. holy ****???

We go a sec time .. i honk but he dosent go .. then i let off and BAM he goes again... here i go chasing him.. AGAIN.... but this time i miss 3rd by time i got back on it i was behind him.. but from then on it was dead even....

Now .. here is the kicker .. i was feeling kinda down about the new motor ...NOT because i thought its unbeatable .. but one i thought WThell did he do... or is my car just messed up or i cant drive ect... i get a call from my eng builder ..saying he heard i got out ran .. i told him my side .. then he laughs! .. WT HELL??

LOL he tells me the car is Not stock anymore .. in fact it put down 415/420rwhp and 44rwtq... on the same mustang dyno my car was on(jawdrop again) and i told him how he had Learned how to drive it, that was for sure... and i had gave him the hit ..THINKING his car was still the same ( wont do that again, Bashing flamproof suite on) so it turns out a freind of the builders was behind us the whole time .. and it WAS dead even ..except i havent had my car for 7 months and suck at driving it ( no excuse, he won one, even or not he was ahead!!! a full car) Props .. to HIM and his BADASS CAR .. and Props to MY engine builder.

Nice death
03-04 Cobra's are fast cars in stock form and respond well to mods and if you have a good driver they are great races.

A '03 Cobra 'vert at that power level is probably a 12.90 - 13.0 car...just FYI.

Nice runs. It sounds like you guys had a good time.

The 2.4L, 2.6L, and 2.8L KB did not exist when I got my blower.

There was a thread over on SVTP a few months back that asked everyone to post up their dyno numbers with just an intake and cat back exhaust.

The average RWHP with just an intake and cat back exhaust was about 415RWHP. In that thread, some cars put down over 430RWHP with just those two mods. And there were also some cars in that thread that were just shy of the 400RWHP mark (all were above 390RWHP).

Of course location and type of dyno played a factor in everyones numbers. But 415RWHP was about the average everyone posted up for those two mods.

Just a little Terminator education

They dont make the 2.2 or 2.4 anymore to my knowledge. You can easily see 600+rwhp with a 2.6L with the proper supporting mods. IMO the only reason to go 2.8 over the 2.6 is if you plan to cam/stroke/built engine etc. You can also get a 2.2 or 2.4L cheaper used and make 600rwhp, the question is how much power to you want to eventually make? and how much are you willing to spend?

I haven't seen the 2.6 or the 2.8H KB outperform the 2.2L KB at the track.

I have, running more boost though.

Then again, that's why you buy them. No sense upgrading the blower if you're not going to spin it in it's sweet spot.

Good Runs. It sounds like a lightly modded cobra with those numbers.

it wont if your running the stock block. When you have the motor stroked, cammed, sprayed, whatever your thing is, the 2.2L will eventually run out of effeciency. The 2.2L is a great blower, no doubt about it. Around here some of the fastest terminators have the 2.2L. As far as fast on the track goes, im sure you all know, power is only good if you can put it to the pavement .

Thats ridiculous. The only solice I take in that is that you guys are still paying close to 10 grand more for these cars... I do want one though. Very sexy, very fast cars. One of my favorites.

StockZ, what are the specs on that cam you have because I figure you would be making more HP at the rear wheels with a 6.0L? A little confused, thought LS2's put out your RWHP stock.
