Default My little LT1 vs Blown 4.6gt, cobra, 2 ls1, and a new SRT8 charger

Been a busy couple of weeks for my little LT1 car. So far on stock motor and limited weight reduction (spare, !EGR, !AIR, etc) I have a decent kill list going.

First is against my buddies TA. We have raced several times but this is the only good video I have of us, and we just happen to be going down the 1/4. Only thing done to his car is a tune, lid, and catback.

CAR:

Video:

Next race is against a **** talking 98 LS1 TA. This race was actually before my last couple of mods, I am about .8 faster than this now. He says he wasn't ready for the race, but right before the 3rd honk you can hear him stall it up and he launches at the same time as me.

And then....... the mustang. A full boltons + vortech blower mustang pulls up beside me at a stop light. I was at first thinking eh another 4.6. I heard him rev it a little bit and heard the whistle. Oh ****, is my thoughts. To my suprise I killed him out of the light up to about 50 where I let off.

Pulled in to a parking lot and talked to him for a little bit and went out to a better place to race. His car definatly traps higher but out of the hole he has nothing on me (on a good surface.) I usually don't spin the 315s too much but I wasn't hooking untill 2nd on the road we raced on.

The first race I hooked and had him by a couple cars by 70, and by 120 I still was holding on to a car ahead before we shut off. I wish I would have got it on camera, but oh well.

The race I did film I got a bad launch and you can see him jump on me very much so and hold about a car-1.5 before i started staying with him.

I don't have video of the other races and I'll keep it short, so here are the outcomes

The following were at a
Boltons 02 TA - had him by 3-4 cars in the quarter
4.6 cobra, unsure of mods, extensive on drag radials - 4-5 cars in quarter
Stock 98 TA, this time all i did was spin. Spun through 1st and 2nd completely and still had him by a half car or so.

Just the other night I raced a new SRT8 charger. Those things are baddd . From a dig on his road all I did was spin spin spin and he put a good 4-5 cars on me. On a different road from a dig I didn't spin near as much and had a length on him before we both shut off due to oncoming cars. We raced again from a 10 roll and I immediatly put 2-3 cars on him and held it up to 100 before I shut off. He bitched about his car being a dog from a dig and wanted to go from a 30. Well due to my auto and gears, at 30 i am almost ready to hit 2nd. I did it anyways, we went form a 30 and like I knew it i hit 2nd almost instantly. I had put about 1/2 car on him before it hit 2nd, when I hit 2nd he was side by side with me, and by the time we shut off I was about a fender ahead of him. Not sure of mods but that car RAN.

Anyways, enjoy, comment if you wanna.

Besides a stock motor, what else do you have done to your car? Nice kills

Good Kills ..... u must have quite a few mods to run with a full bolt-on and supercharged 4.6. If it was a gt its would easily be a 400rwhp/360rwtq.

Don't necessarily have that much work done to the car, it just seems that my parts work together pretty well. In the quarter the car doesn't run for **** but on the streets it does pretty well

It has evolved a ways from the 14.9 bone stock with stereo system 2.73 car it was the day I bought it 2 months ago.

Next up - nitrous.

my buddy has a 99' GT with intake exhaust saleen sc and dynos 327rwhp so depending on the setup up i wouldn't put the mustang at 400rwhp just cause of sc.

Well first off the Saleen blowers aren't that great... and they only run 5psi with the stock pulley. Second, the Vortech is a much more efficient design, and people usually run those @ about 8psi.

I ran into a new SRT8 Charger the other day on 400NB by the Outlets. Not impressed at all. All that HP isn't worth a damn when the car weighs as much as a truck. Good kills.

They still run nearly identical times to a good-running LS1... not too shabby for a Sherman tank.

Just little stuff... no motor work

It really is pretty slow in comparison to my 383 car, but it suprises the hell out of every other lt1, ls1, 5.0 or 4.6 in town. The only car I didn't suprise was a sonic blue boltons 03 cobra. I had him untill 80 then his car finally covered up his !driver mod and he blew past me like I was just hanging out

Forgot to add I raced another LS1 tonight. It is homecoming night for one of the schools here and some guy from out of town was here with his date. I didn't want to do it but he asked for it. Not sure what mods or year but i know it had exhaust and it was an LS1 TA. When I asked him his mods he said "an LS1".. no ****. Put some distance on him in 1st, and kept putting more distance on him at 2nd so I let off by 60 or so.

I'm unaware as to why the big "secret" for your mods.

Not really a secret just fun to keep people guessing. There are a lot of local people on this board so I like to keep it quiet, racing is no fun when the competitor knows what you have down to each part number

Raced another 98 WS6 last night from about a 35 roll, he took the hit and with his 3.23s caught first gear where I was stuck in 2nd. I pulled on him the whole time and had put some good length on him before he shut off (70 or so). I will be racing him at test and tune tomorrow night so I'll video it

no mod list = rice and makes this kill story pointless.
