Let me just tell you all, a 2V GT doesn't like 8500rpm... I don't know that for sure though.

Nice! I'm kinda glad the noob brought this thread back, I'm looking to buy my fist manual trans car within a year and every time I see one of these I pick up more little tips on how to avoid doing dumb stuff to your car.

Never missed a shift that bad in the mustang. I did however go from 3rd to 1st on my Gsxr750 @ about 65mph on the interstate. The ensuing calamity led to stained underwear and an upset stomach. Good Kill on the Srt!!

I love that they run skinnies as BACK tires, it just looks retarded going down the track. Seriously, why would anyone take a FWD car and make it a drag car?

3rd to 2nd seems odd..I did 2nd to 5th instead of 3rd plenty of times when learning how to drive a manual

When I was letting the kid that bought my 98 Z28 test drive it. He just calmy (he wasn't even trying to shift fast) ****** from 2 to 1. I made him pull over and we switched drivers... Wasn't even a block from my house either. Told him he'd have to lay cash in my hand if he wanted to drive it again.

Month later he emails me and it's blown up... Told him the 98's didn't like bangin' off the rev limiters.

I've done this twice, the first time the rear end bounced three times before I pushed the clutch in, the second time was at the track and I caught it after the second bounce, car still runs great.

Done it a few times. The split second I realized what happened, I had the clutch back in. Maybe saw 8k rpms.

When trying to slam gears, it can happen, especially near redline.

Lol yeah, that's basically what was happening. Although I have learned that I don't really need to push up AND right with so much exaggeration.

I seemed to have broke the habit...for now haha
