Anyone Ever Accidentally Shifted 3rd to 2nd?
I was racing this guy from 40 and after I beat him he said he accidentally shifted from 3rd to 2nd instead of 4th. Has anyone ever done that? I can't imagine screwing that shift up, its just straight back!
This was a 05 S R T 4 Stage 3 turbo boosted to 19lbs(for now), coil overs, sway bars, wastgate upgrade, after market clutch, full exhaust, ported manifold, fuel upgrade, E-manage, Oil system upgrade, good street tires, aftermarket wheels 5lbs lighter than stock.
I sprayed a 50 shot and walked him 3 times. He said he shifted from 3rd to 2nd two of the three races and we ran out of room on the other.

Tell him he ought to spend less money on mods and more money at the track, since his shifting skills obviously suck. Either that, or get an auto trans. Personally I think he's BS'ing to try and cover his losses, but if he wants to stick to the "I missed a shift" 2 out of 3 times, well, less mods and more track time.

Another thing is I've accidentally shifted from 2nd to 1st before. When I did that the car damn near came to a stop and the guy I was racing ended up beating my by 100 yards obviously. Last night this guy was only back a couple car lengths so yeah its gotta be BS now that I think about it.
Oh yeah, I ran an 8.6 @ 84.25 w/2.0 60'. I'm still working on the 60.

I've done it at last count, 5 times that I remember. 4 times i popped the clutch back in so that the tires didn't lock. 5th time I was more concerned with the keeping the car straight on the road, trick was to slightly **** the wheel to the right, and a crapload of burnt tire then wafted past me. Good times, good times.
You can get away with this more so on a OHV motor more so than a OHC, especially interference motors.
