Default 98 T/A vs Honda s2000

so Friday afternoon when i got off work i went to the bank with a co worker and there was a yellow vert that was driving like a moron. we came to a red light and he rev at me so i looked over and gave him a rev back. i asked him if he wanted to run and he looked away. so i had a feeling like he was going to go for it when it would turn green. light turned green and we were off i put about a car on him off the light and about the time i hit 85 i had about 4 cars on him. i shut it down and made a left to drop off my friend and he drove by me and rev at me and didn't slow down. the whole time my coworker was telling me not to do it and when it was all one and over my coworker was laughing so hard saying it wasn't close. i was surprise how fast that car was.

Yeah, S2000s are not nearly as slow as some people make them out to be... IF you can drive them right. Good run

i don't see imports getting into to the 14's very often. when i do see imports hitting anything lower than 14's its evo's and sti's. most the time i see VW, civics and eclipse hitting 16.5's at the track.

Haha yea, but I guess it depends on where you live. Here there seems to be a lot of fast little buggers around but back when I lived in NY it was all 16 second rice.

true true, in Seattle where i lived for a few yrs. i would never go back to that hell hole. there was tons of civics that were an extra in fast n the furious. those things r what i think of when Honda comes to my mind. not a s2000 that i thought was quick but then again. most the ppl i know have heads, cam and a small shot of nitrous. im the slow one of the bunch and yeah they would say a s2000 is slow but they would say the same about me. just wait til i drop a stroker kit in my car lol

Well it's a good thing that S2000s have been capable of 13s since they came out

Thats about as common as a 13 sec 350z, it happens but not often. You have to rev the **** out of those things to get good times and most people that own them cant drive for ****.

But that doesn't change what the cars are capable of. A 2.2l model (04+) has hit a best of 13.6 @ 103mph I believe.

But the will never sound as good, or look as good, as a 1998-up Trans Am. Hell, formula for that matter.

Just a tune (no other mods) and you are at 12.8, and that is a first generation tune, 2nd gen, just came out, first track results are 12.3 - 12.4 with catback exhaust, no other mods.

Good job on the s2000, I think they are relatively slow. I also agree with the people that said they will never sound or look as good as the GM v8's

S2000 tried to run me a few days ago on the flats between Everett and Marysville. We were rolling about 50 and next thing I know I hear what sounds to me like a pissed off yellow jacket and a cloud of black/grey smoke come outta that thing. I kick it down to 2nd and nail it and in no time he's several cars behind me. And that was with him jumping me. I had no idea we were gonna run.
