So my buddy has this blue 93-94 MR2 turbo, its been down for like a year cause his turbo took a dump in his intake. Any way he now has it bored to 2.2l with a huge turbo, suspension, tranny, clutch, wider tires, 390 ish on the dyno (according to him) ect ect... Neeless to say all he has done is talk about how bad his car is and that hes gonna spank my Vette, I never bit thinking that he would prolly win. Well we met up after work and went from a dig, I spun my 315's a little, traction control was on but not used, I bite and am off by two cars at least take it to the top of first, still got the **** talker by two cars, hit 73 grab third, hes still back there, hud says 101 the shift lite coms on and I can still see the head lights in the side view mirror, I let outta it he blows by, he pulls up next to me after the race and says, we gotta go again, it was really close...
My Vette is tuned, 315's out back, halltech stinger, Z06ti cat back, lowered, no cags, short throw shifter, tint, and a decent system.
So what do you think, did I just out drive him, or could anybody pull it off?
Either way its still nice to shut him up.

Yeah, from a dig race on paper his mid-engine rear drive should have been the better of the two cars. I've seen a few MR2's that get up and boogy from a dig.
Good kill, a chase is a race right!

That sounds about right. Its not a simple task getting mr2s to launch well. Takes a lot of practice. 390 at the wheels with a 2.2l and a turbo sounds conservative. Do you know what turbo he's using?

there's no way its a 40. do they even make a 40? I know guys jump from the 35r to the 42r. Guys running the 35r with a 2.2l are usually seeing 450+, and that's on the low side. The 42r is 600+ on a 2.2l
