Funny *** story!
Some people need to put down their keys and stick to internet racing, lol.
Scottp999, that's a nice looking car in your sig! How much do those go for?

Not sure if this is what the guy was talking about, but I know there is a button in the newer M3s that increases hp/tq. A friend of mine has one and I think he said it basically just leans out the AF ratio. Maybe that is what this guy was talking about and he called it a turbo?

Too much! (getting ready to write out another principal payment on the loan tonight) Base 42k, then you start adding sports package, leather, etc. and you get out the door at just under 50. A little larger picture:

Only the xi version. I have the regular i coupe which is rwd, xi can be had in either coupe or sedan, you just have to look at the badge to tell. The xi's sit a little higher, weigh a little more, not sure about drive train losses. The mods available for 2 wheel drive work for the awd as well even though down pipes are different one vendor has already come out with them.

Thanks. My first car was a 71 bird. I am hoping there is a new version, but if not I am thinking real hard about the new camaro. Would love to get back into a v8 and the BMW v8 version M3 would put me in the poor house.

my first v-8 was an 86 TPI IROC. it cost me $700. it was in too good of shape but the motor ran perfect and the trans had been rebuilt with a hell of a shift kit. i fell in love. i knew then that i would always try to keep a v-8 even if it wasn't always practical. as for bavarian motor works, they are high priced cars, but what gets me is that they have the highest percentage of warranty returns of any auto maker, not very well engineered or too picky a customer i dunno which.

Well, I wasn't going to post...but. 1) Nice kill, 335's stock dyno 270-280 hp. 2)The BMW driver is an idiot. 3) There are tuning computers that have a valet switch. Maybe he thought he could switch maps on the fly from a stock map to a tuned map, which as far as I know with current piggy-back tuning computers is not possible.
"As a added feature, the Active Autowerke tuned XEDE Processor has double banks to store separate individually tuned files for varied and different conditions.
Now you can have a STOCK configuration and a hi-performance tuned version all at the same time, just "... A flip of the switch...": and you are good to go."

There is a picture of the switch in the glovebox 3/4 down the page. Funny thing is, If he was running that tune and knew how to turn it on, look at the dyno on that page, he would have had about 345whp.
