Default 2nd gen. eclipse kill

I drive a 2000 V6 Pontiac Firebird convertible with an automatic transmission and a dynomax dual exhuast. I wanted a five speed but the deal on this car was to good to pass up. Anyway 3 of my friends and me were coming back from a concert on I-85 one night when this guy in a 2nd generation eclipe comes rolling up to me reving his car. I let him go for a while and decide to have some fun with him. I gun it on him and gain about 2 car lengths on him before slowing down and letting him catch up. The next time we both go and I pull on him with about 500lbs of passenger weight in the car not to mention my car outweighs his by probably about 500lbs. He just falls on his face at 110 and I keep going. After the race he pulls up next to me waving four fingers in the air thinking I had a V8. Complete idiot.

i hope you realize the work in swapping a big motor into a v6 car. frame ties, motor mounts, new rear end (12 bolt for that kinda power) new exhaust system, new rims and tires, new trans to hold up to all the new power, your talking alotta K on that conversion man.
keep it in good shape for a daily, and find something with a v8 and sturdy, buildable trans. got my car with 100000 miles and busted convertible top for 3500$, and since, just to make it 557rwhp dumped about 15 grand...that includes new paint, top, rims, tires, and all that little stuff, but just giving an example.

I realize that it's going to be a lot of work but it'll be worth it to me. I already have a 2002 SS but I want to keep it in pristine condition. Plus I can do most if not all of the work myself.

as long as you know what your getting into. friend of mine went the same route and after six months of custom fabbing this and that gave up. hopefully your not the type to give up, and you'll see it through.

Well 2g non turbo cars are pretty darn slow as are the auto even turboed ones.A turbo 5 sp 2nd gen should be a good run for your car even at bone stock 12psi. They were rated 210 the turbo ones, the non turbo not sure think 160 or 140.Never pay any attention to non turboed ones. Also awd has good advantage off the line against any car on normal street tires.

Currently have a super modded up 2g. Its talon but same engine.Car is wicked fast and has beat my buddies bolt on 2001 z28 at fairly low boost levels from max potential.

Course not going to say it was a cheap build up. It is pretty easy to get another 50 hp or so out of the 2g turbos. Just up the boost to 15 to 17psi or so. Add in a 1g blow off.
A bit of exhaust ,a k an n filter and cheap boost controller and you will have at least another 50hp.And 260 hp in a car that weighs 3150 or so in awd form and around 2800 in fwd form will give your v6 a good run!

Course turbo that v6 is another good option for you if you don't want to do engine swaps. There are some wicked fast v6 turbo firebirds.

I personally like v8 turbo firebirds as you can see from my sig. I do expect my twin turbo trans am to be my fastest car. But as said my 2g is scary fast.

im thinking it was a 420a, even just w/ free mods a turbo gsx or gst would take him. then again it coulda been a really tired 4g63.

That'll be a nice swap. i've been waiting to get the ls6 crate for my 2002 Z28, but can't afford it right now.
