Default Full bolton/pullied GT500 goes down to the goat!

So I was driving around with my GF earlier MMOB (yea right) when I see coming up quick behind me a red gt500 with no stripes. I know the guy, seen him around alot and always exchange revs but we finally caught each other going the same direction on a good road!

So he pulls up and throws a smile, i nod and we both slow to about 40mph. I drop into 2nd and we slow to about 35mph at this point. I do the three honks and we both hit it. It took a second for my boost to hit fully and we were side by side through second. Nailed third and he drops to my rear quarter panel, bang fourth and he is a car and a half back. About this point we get outta it (approaching 140mph) and he comes up beside me smiling and throwing a thumbs up.

Up until this point i had no clue what his mods were, he told me full bolt ons with a pulley swap. He was amazed the ole goat pulled it out until I yelled back to him that it was turboed.

Im trying to locate him to setup a rematch on video so I can post it up, so until then, GTO-1 GT500-0.

On second thought, you're right. What do they weigh, 4200 pounds? Good catch on that one.

4200?? Are you high?? 6500 maybe, if they take out the entire interior and the spare and jack and if they only have a steering wheel on the inside.

4200 pounds, WTF. Dumbass.

It's all good everyone! Necro was just kiddin look at his sig!

Most of the time when a GTO kills a vette or Fbod everyone claims bs and starts pointing out the bad qualities of a gto. He was just makin fun of that.

Dont know how much it is putting down at the moment, have not had it back on the dyno at the new psi. Had it street tuned for the new boost levels. The walbro is holding up just fine so far.

nice kill man, the Gt500 mustang weighs a little over 3800lbs. if you watch the top gear on the car, it only puts down 447 horses (ponies) at the wheels. It also only has a 3.31 gear.
while the GTO does weigh a little more, i can believe the car would do that. I saw some guy driving a GT500 at rt. 41 right off the showroom floor and he was in the low 13's. either he didnt know how to drive or what.
but with this guy having full bolt ons and pulley swap, its probably substanially more than 447 at the wheels, which, with his turbo in the GTO, would make this a hell of a race.
if he said he won by 5 cars, i would call bs, but by car and half, i could see that happening. anything is possible.

Awesome matchup and a helluva race. Results are about spot on for the setup you're running. Nice kill.

And FYI, Goats weigh about 100lbs less than a GT500 stock for stock.

BTW, why you going with the iron block? You expecting alot of heat soak with your future setup?

Quick Reply: Full bolton/pullied GT500 goes down to the goat!
