Default 99 SS vs 07 SRT-8 300C

I ran my friends cousin today from a 70mph roll. Thru 3rd and 4th it was neck and neck...well he was at my front tire, but that's pretty much a neck and neck race. When I shifted to 5th he started to inch away, but we let off. I've been having clutch issues for the last 6 months and I was wondering if that would rob some of my power? It doesn't engage in gear fast at high rpm's. We'll be doin a rematch as soon as I get in my new clutch. My mods are GMMG, LID, FTRA(it was closed in this run), MSD wires, P&P TB, & LS6 intake...he said his mods are no cats and no resonators.

Good run man, I have one (with mods) and let me tell you its every bit a mid/low 12sec car and CRAZY on 50+ rolls with the Diablo tuned rev limit and shifts points. It shifts at 6600 rpm now, HUGE improvement. I love the car.

He wanted to go from that roll so I said why not. I didn't lose either cuz by the time he pulled about even with my bumper we let off. If we had more room and I stayed in it he most likely would of got me, but if I could've got into 4th faster it might of been different.

From a dig would be fun as well. They have a wonderful traction control that applies the power even when you begin to spin. It is more than likely the same system on the Mercedes. Now if you turn it off, your gonna sit in a cloud of smoke not moving. Must have been fun.

Yea. We bought the 300 for my wife. I am waiting for the chance for a used C6 Z06.
Until then, my kills will be limited to what the 300 can do.

Long story. Basically I never drove it. My father had a few health issues and I am now able to use the Cobra money (car payment/ins/mod money) on him if/when he needs it. When things are better soon, I will find a beautiful used Z06, God willing. I sold the Cobra and traded my wifes previous car for 1 car w/ 1 payment. Its famliy. Cars come later.

It stings though when the guy sends me pics of my Cobra now.
