they sound hella good, here's the flip side: majority of them can be beaten by an extended cab pickup hauling a boat

Ha I would laugh if he still had the stock H-pipe on there. You will beat him. What year did you say he was again? I forgot. If it was 96-98 he would be lucky to have 200rwhp.

its a 99' dude is pretty dumb he really thought his exhaust was stock and still that loud, he says his neighbor (mustang owner) looked at it an said its a h-pipe but he doesn't know about the mufflers, other then that its an auto with a k/n intake, the guy he bought it from told him its was tuned, diablo i think. so with that 260 chp goes to 300rwhp don't know how he got those #'s.

Diablo tuners suck. Anyways ya he will be around 245rwhp, if that. The autos have a lot of drivetrain loss. I honestly think he might have gained 15 rwhp, maybe 20 if he was really really lucky. If it is an offroad h pipe that will add about 10rwhp since the stock cats are so restrictive. Just go show him whats up. People need to know what they have before going off and running their mouth. That goes for any person with any car.

Yeah, I could hope to maybe beat a poorly-driven 6spd LS1 from a stop right now. Or maybe a 2.73/A4. Once I get LTs/4.10s/tune that will be enough to challenge the others (except from a highspeed roll). But not right now. And I'm damn near full-bolton. These cars with just exhaust and a short shifter need to realize their place on the food chain

i dont see how u can run with ls1s irun11s, i have a 95 formy(in sig) and run 8.3s(in sig) i have headers, catback, gears, tune, and im dead even with BONE STOCK ls1s until 105ish and then they leave me, and ive ran a few bolt on gts, the fastest being an 03 auto with 3.55s, Intake, TB, Intake Elbow, headersm xpipe, flows, and tuned(who supposedly ran 8.6s, and i beat him from a 30 roll(me in 2nd at 3000 and him in 1st at 4000) and i pulled him by like 3-4 cars up to 110...so it just dont make sense that a bolt on gt can run even a stock ls1 unless its a really bad driver...no offence btw

My car is *capable* of mid 13s as it sits. I've seen plenty of LS1s that run mid 13s or worse. That's why I said I could "hope" to win. As in, I wouldn't expect to. But with the LTs/4.10s/tune I'd have a touch more power/torque than a stock Mach 1 (though not as broad a powerband), and much better gearing... so it wouldn't be inconceivable at all that I *could* hang with an LS1 from a stop. But speculation is masturbation.

The only mods you need to put a stang at a 13.5 are lt's, o/r x, catback, tune, and gears (3.73 or 4.10). That would be a really easy 13.5 too. You also need to remember a hardtop weighs in at about 3200lbs where fbodys are around 3500lbs. Granted mod for mod a stang will never keep up, they can be fast when built appropriately. Mustangs get out of the hole pretty quick too. Unfortunately our gearing isnt nearly as highway racing friendly.

Don't waste the money on the LT's. Get those 4.10's in ASAP though! Best mod I ever did to my Bullitt. Ran 13.2@103.5 with just O/R X, Dynomax cb and 4.10s on DR's. Like you said- sometimes I could edge out my buddies '99 auto SS but not very often.

I'm gonna save up money and get the LTs/4.10s/tune at the same time, cuz I'm fairly sure that even through 4.10s I should be at 280-285rwhp... and that would be mucho fun

4.10's is gonna make a difference, and its gonna feel like a bigger difference than it really is. but significant none the less.

After those longubes you should add FoxLake stage 2 heads, and cams. Oh wait, thats what I have. No really though add those and then a P51 or RR intake manifold and you should see around 320-330rwhp.

4.10's will knock off about .4-.5 sec. Longtubes .1-.3 depending on brand. Some of the best are American racing, they will get you atleast .3
