they put a nice set of handcuffs on you and you take a trip to the station while your car get impounded. If the cop is nice he will let it go....depends if they want to go to court or not. Others might just give you a ticket for, excessive speed or wreckless driving or wreckles endagerment or all three. and in some states.... they are really mean and might even take your car from you

I got hit with wreckless driving and exhibition acceleration. Ticket was somewhere around $200, but the worst part was I lost 6 points off my license and had to take a class so it wouldn't be suspended. At least my car was not impounded though.

Just dont race in stupid places. I have never been caught, but from what buddies have said, if you are doing it on a straight road with no traffic, and not doing anything too stupid they will take it easy on you. But if you are being extremely stupid and endangering others then you will get some pretty harsh punnishment.

in the orland park IL area your looking at near or over a grand for the racing, possible loss of liscence for six months, and your car towed to the most expensive impound lot there is.

i know this because it happened to a buddy of mine around here.

To the best of my knowledge in So Cal...Its a felony.Anything over 99mph is automatic felony. Car is impounded and you go to the slammer...and to top it all off they drive you to jail in a FORD!

I got a ticket for going over 100 mph on my Busa in 2002 in Camarillo, Ca (southern), it was a misdemeanor, my license was suspended, I didn't go to jail, they did tow my bike I got it the next day.

A lot depends on your location (local and state laws), the conditions at the time of the race (crowded city streets or an empty highway at 2:00 am) and the cop that pulls you.

A bad day = go to jail, car gets impounded, license gets suspended, pay plenty of $$$ for court and attorney fees and then you get raped on your insurance.

A great day = you're out racing very late at night, get pulled by a cop who's a pretty nice guy and actually likes your car, you get a very stern talking to, drive home without a ticket and hopefully get a sufficient scare that helps you avoid finding yourself in this situation again in the future.

nothing because to be drag racing you have to be at a drag strip, on the street is street racing. lol. but street racing = heavy fine or jail.

Yep, pretty much. I'm not perfect, a while ago I left about 100ft of rubber right in front of a cop. I thought he was going to impound my car, but instead yelled at me for about 20 minutes and didn't cite me. He did tell me that next time the car and liscence was going bye bye. Anyway that was 2 years ago and although I still like to throw the hammer down once and a while, I know theres a time and a place.
