Unhappy Coupe of runs with New Stang

We were doing 55mph and i jumped on him ......so i stoped my pull as i was slowing down from 70 mph he comes flying by me so i hit it again but he put 1 length on me i didn't have the chance to run him down he turned off so i followed so as i got next to him and he didnt go so i went on my way
1.I think he is M5 to my auto thats one reason i didn't pull on him
2. He had some mods equal to mine. What does he need?
Why did he fly by me when i was slowing down to give him a fair chance?

I have run other new mustangs and i have beaten them but i think they were autos and stock.

The autos are faster than the manuals.

No they aren't... ceteris paribus it's a couple tenths slower. But of course it's way easier to get an automatic to run its best than a manual.

All of the turbo s197 are manual, the gt500 is manual most are limited. The guy who tuned my car has a supercharged auto 05 lts, tune , Saleen Blower 12 psi 3800 stall 410's. The car runs mid 10's .Dyno Joe.com.My slow *** auto runs 13.1's at 105.44 with a tune and 331 highway gears.Auto with a stall faster on the street and more reliable. My car has no stall btw!

I really don't understand the relevance of this post... I'm sure we all know that a stalled/tuned automatic is just as fast if not faster than a manual. But for STOCK CARS, the 5spd/6spd manual Mustangs have always been faster than the automatics. The new 5spd automatic is way better than the old 4spd, but it's still not a manual.

Lets just say the manuals are limited. We agree to disagree.Maybe from a roll .

Limited to what? I thought it was widely understood that with a good driver the 5spd/6spd Mustang will always be faster than the same car with an automatic.

Bone stock yes, but the s197 is a different animal after theyare tuned.Guess I should have made that clear.I can see your point though.

yes a built auto or stalled auto on a higher hp car can be faster. but theres no way i believe a s197 with a saleen blower at 12 psi is runnin 10s. we weigh 3600lbs. with that blower hes makin 450rwhp tops at 12 psi and unless hes cutting1.5 60 fts. i dont c him getting in 10s

OP, some people just don't know how to race (or don't really care to), hence the flyby. You never know what mods he has, but it seems that mod for mod the LS1 Fbodies and 05+ GTs are a pretty close race (perhaps the advantage to the LS1???). His manual vs your auto definitely gave him the advantage from a highway roll.

Well yeah compared to your car that is dog slow of course. My guess is that Mustang has 3.31 gears instead of 3.55s.

I've driven a couple Mach 1's and they were a lot faster than that. I guess the weight difference really hurts them. Not ******* on the ford's at all, just is not impressive.

If its a 5sp, not too much. As stated stock for stock it is a good race. My mods list is kinda like yours, and I know that I didnt feel too much of a difference from any of the mods. Unfortunately none of the Mustang guys here in CO will run me. I dont get it.
