Its always funny how the Ford boys react to threads like this.
Always bringing up other models and making fun of LT1's.
Cobra's are slow for the power they put down, which is why vette's and fbodies with 50+ less hp can walk right by them.
Of course this is due to weight, but thats how they came.
They are just pissy because unless your spending 20K for a nice Cobra, GT's suck for performance and 15 year old LT1's can kick thier *** in nearly stock form.
And an LT1 with 300rwhp will match or beat a stock 03-04 Cobra.
And bringing up the GT500 is just comical...
A 500bhp, 4000lb hugely overpriced boat that has trouble escaping 12 second ET's is nothing to bragg about.

Ok so New Edge GT's are high 13 second cars with good driving, and even MT got 13.8 out of a bone stock GT. So if he got the hit and you were still able to reel him in and pass him it was definitely not a Cobra. There were very few blue 01 Cobra's as well.
And the reality is even though some idiots have run high 13's in N/A Cobra's. They are hampered only by gearing and the need to know how to keep them in the powerband. If you know how to drive a Cobra its in a different league from a stock GT from a roll.

And I agree the GT500 is absolute garbage which makes me mad because I was going to get one until I drove one and I realized there was no way I was paying $25k over sticker for one. Its really hard to beat the bang for the buck a Terminator provides. If my wife had her way I would have bought my friends Saleen Terminator with a 5.0 Stroker and KB but in the end I couldn't pass up a Vette!
