Default LS1 vs LT1

the ole battle of the generations, so this morning im waiting to turn left on seventh street and northern for those of you who know phoenix, well dude is in front of me in a ls1 camaro SS if i recall correctly, and he noticed me behind him. (saw him look back in the rear view and smile). well dudes got a mohawk and some fat gauges in his ears so i figure he will be ready right away to race, so he turns and i follow suit and he gives it a lil punch right away. so i kinda give it some throttle cause he is already a car or two ahead just cruising so i cruise up and kinda go by looking at him and he is checkin my car out too. so we come up to 12th street and northern and i get the open left lane, a truck was next to me in the right lane so the SS had to get behind me. so i want this guy to know im gunna take off so im acting like im really paying attention to the light and looking back in the rear view and smiling so he knows it on like donkey kong. so light turns green and i kinda hit it to see if he will follow suite, well he does so i pin it and burn the tires just a little and hit second probably 75% throttle cause my foot slipped so it shifted at like 5700 usually goes all the way to 6000. but right after it shifted i re adjusted my foot and was back on it. so it was time to check where he was since he had not gone around me yet, and he is probably about 1 car back behind me, unable to reel me in! i was soo suprised, today is a good day. so im figuring he must have been completely stock a4, where as im CAI and UD pullies a4. GO LT1 !!!!!

I AGREE MAN, ITS A STRONG MOTOR IN EVERY REGAURD, WITH A GOOD PORT MATCH OF THE HEADS AND INTAKE IM SURE IT WOULD BE JUST ABOUT EVEN WITH AN LS1 UP TOP. BUT THEN AGAIN IM NO ENGINEER JUST MY .2 CENTS.

I'm been outrun by an M6 LT1.

But I was running on an 87 tune with a dead knock sensor (pulled timing), and a dying slave cylinder.

He also has a Texas Speed tune, 4.11s, and full bolt ons.

And I passed him hardcore when he hit fifth.

Strange race, but I guess that's a good kill. You should have found a place to line up next to each other. Sounds like it would have been a great race.

Let's just say it. the LT1 is no-where near as efficient as the LS1.

That being said, they're both 5.7s and can be built pretty easily. Yes the LS1 is a better motor, but the LT1 is a nice drive. It feels better to drive.

Stock to stock, an LS1 makes ~50 more RWHP than an LT1. The only place the LT1 has the advantage is below 3000 rpm.

So if you race from 0-3000 rpm, you're golden.

He was probably spinning, and broken. Or he just couldn't drive for ****. an LS1 has to be wrung out for power. It's a given.

I've seen some LT1s haul. Unfortunately most are broke-*** around here, and are slow as dogshit.

Funny....but nope. Have you think maybe he was not racing??? The LS1 is FAR superior, if you think otherwise you need to inform yourself a bit more.

"Go LT1!"......LOL! Kids....but hey keep it up.....you always can provide good entertainment!

I'm not going to call bs or anything cause these things happen. Having said that, maybe it shouldn't have gone down that way. I raced a few LT1's when I was bone stock and never had a problem with them. They were lightly modded-exhaust, intake...Good kill none the less. Always fun to run another camaro.

So, you took the hit and as soon as your car shifted into second you called the win. How long was this run? 3 seconds? Maybe 4? Long enough for you to keep the lead between your hit and his reaction time?

Who gives a ****... A wins a win. Hey I don't care that an LS1 makes more power then the LT1. You still have to drive the car. If you can't drive then you won't win races. Maybe the OP can handle a car very well and the other guy couldn't. You don't know. So I say good kill OP!
