TT Z06 vs Ferrari F430 Well that other Ferrari thread got me remembering this race that happened to me so I figured I'd post it up for you guys. Sorry for the long story but its a good read.
I was at work and I had driven my dad's twin turbo Z06 because at the time my car was down and there was no other car to drive. (pics below of his car during the build) Well the day was beautiful and I was about to go to lunch, infact I was walking out to the car and I hear this car reving. Now usually I can pinpoint what the car is by its rev, you know either its a GM V8, Mustang V8, Cobra, or some kind of Import. Well this sounded like nothing I could think of so I'm watching the road because I could tell the car was getting closer and it was LOUD! I'm about 30 yards away from dad's ride when I see the car. Its a black Ferrari F430.
I'm absolutely a Ferrari nut and to this day I believe Ferrari=GOD! He got caught at the redlight in front of my work for about 3 seconds and then I heard him rev it up hard as he left. At this point I **** you not, I started RUNNING to the Vette knowing this would be a one in a lifetime chance! I get inthe car, fire it up, and take off towards the lower exit and go after the Ferrari. Traffic was so bad that it took me about 2 miles to catch him. I finally caught him in alittle town up the road (Travelers Rest, SC) and he is on a road that goes into 4 lane with a grass median that takes you to NC. Well we both get caught at this light and I see him looking in his rear view mirror at me. All he sees is a black Z06 on HRE's with a 2" cowl hood. When I see him look I throw him a rev. (Borla exhaust with a lightweight flywheel, she revs FAST) He then takes his hand and pats his roof at me. Oh God damn, at this point I say to myself "I am going to show NO mercy to this guy!". Traffic is still tight but up ahead it clears. We are at the end of the town and ahead is nothing but country/mountain 4 lane road with a grass median. And what would you know, the light right before it goes into that road changed red. Well he got the front line and there was a car beside him so I was forced to stay behind him. I've got the car in 1st gear with the clutch half out waiting for green, I'll jump in his front seat if I have to when the light goes green. Light turns green and he babies off the line! WTF?! As soon as I think that he nails it and that oh so sweet Ferrari note is singing. I floor is and 1st gear taps the rev limiter. I smash 2nd gear and pedal it best I could. At this point he has about 3-4 carlengths on me. I hit 3rd gear and she hooks! Here I come! I'm closing in FAST on him and by the time I had to shift into 4th I'm a car back from him. I hit 4th and I get over in the lane next to him as I blow past him about 40mph faster than him. As I go past him I look over and see a "WTF GOD DAMN!" look on his face. I take 4th gear to redline (about 165mph?) and I let out. I hit the brakes hard and he pulls along side me (eventually). He goes "What is done to that thing!?" and I just shrug my shoulders "I dunno" at him. He rolls his eyes and downshifts and takes off. I had proven my point and I cut a U-turn and went on to lunch. Sorry for the long post but it was my best kill evAr!! Sux it wasn't with my car though! 
Oh well, I figure you guys would get a hoot out of the GM killing the Ferrari so I posted it!

Yep, thats it! His car was used to make the kit. He DROVE the car to New Mexico and then flew home. Jimmy and Nathan trailered the car back to SC when it was finished. It was over there seriously over a year. Towards the end I thought his car was long gone in Mexico or somewhere. lol But it finally did come back. I figure when I ran the Ferrari his car was making about 700rwhp. We never had it dynoed other than when they tuned the car.

what kind of kit is that? looks like an APS but i thought the APS used smaller twin IC's.
so w/o a forged bottom, maybe what kind of hp is that thing putting down? high 500's?
