death to srt-4
I was riding home lastnight with the wife when a blue neon passed me at a high rate of speed. I figure what the hell even though the roads are clear but somewhat wet and caught up to the car. It obviously was not stock with a very loud exhaust at least.
After waiting for a clear straight I get beside him @ about 70. He just punches it??
After he realizes I didn't go he slows back down and gets beside me at about 60 (I know I know the WORST spot to run him but it's wet). I proceed with three honks and after the first honk I can clearly hear his turbo spooling so he was probably brake boosting. On the third honk he shoots ahead half a car while mine was downshifting He gets slightly more than 2 cars on me by 110 and shuts down but I think I was starting to reel him in at that point. He still got me regardless.
We line up again @ 60 and I wait for his honks this time. And this time I'm ready. I gun it just before the third honk and with the delay on the 4-2 I launch exactly on three. He still pulls slowly a little more than a car and half by 90 but this time I can tell I'm stopping the pull and starting to SLOWWLY catch up but he shuts down again at a little more than 110 with me slightly more than a car behind. Again I lose From a stop it would be different
I know excuses suck but I had just gotten gas had a 120lb passenger and he had none and a HEAVY (60lbs+)speaker box I just put in the other day that I'm taking out
Oh yeah and the car is bone stock down to paper filter with tuning (my fault)
In the end I still lost and now the modding itch is really itching.
EDIT: My wife is making sure that I mention I was riding with my VERY HOT wife(she is) so the added weight from her is okay.

It wasn't raining just wet in spots. Pretty much zero traffic. You could ride right behind someone and not get any moisture on your windshield. Some spots were completely dry. Trust me if it was bad my wife would have whooped my ***.
I will post losses for the benefit of others.

cheap crappy car. there over$20,000 new. get great mpg, are pretty fast, and very reliable. idk what about it makes it cheap or crappy except the fact that $1000 in aftermarket parts and it could beat you!

Stock ones are getting rarer and rarer. It's easy to make a good power to weight ratio and hard to hook it up from a dig. There are a few of the 400+whp cars in every decent sized town. They hold together well until you push it past that. Mine is 297whp/348wtq with maxed out stock turbo at 2860lbs. Oh yeah, race them from a dig.

There's no shame in posting this one! My worst loss in my Corvette was to two girls in a Sunfire GT on wet roads (it was still raining). I tried to feather the pedal, but she just wasn't having it. We got caught side by side and the two girls were ecstatic about the fact that they just took down a Vette! HAHA!
As for the SS, I can't get traction at highway speeds when it's dry, so I usually just leave it home whenever there's even a chance of rain.
