Ya but if the vette has coilovers i am interested if it is for road racing or the 1/4 cause a 3000lb vette with a good suspension/tire setup and a good driver will easily launch hard if not harder then the cobra. But maybe he still has the runflats???

C6 by far. It's far superior in almost every category.. Before i got into the C6 i considered getting a C5Z. The C5Z has a better feel to it.. much more refined, IMO all around better car.

Cobra is heavy and clunky, Weight distro is all fucked up, but with little money it can be an awesome car.
For me it's a cool hobby that doesn't break the bank..

Sorry, i should have clarified the pilot sports.

Hard to say.. vid will be up soon. Should be a good one. We ran once when i had my C6, we were neck and neck. I'm interested to see where my cobra is in comparison.. I'm going to see if i can dig that old vid of our vettes running..

No excuses. You just might not have been lurking around this forum long enough to see any of the bogus racing vids pop up.

I recall one a while back with a new mustang GT (yellow) supposedly bone stock, beating a LS1 Trans AM, then a LS1 Corvette. Both of the LS1 cars were supposed to be bolt'on cars also.

I think you have a good standing reputation though. Good luck to the both of you and keep it safe as possible.

Doesn't matter. A 400rwhp Z06 isn't going to run bottom 11's.
A pulley/bolt on Cobra definitely can.

3 to 4? Definitely sounds like the norm to me.

400rwhp is only good for 117-120mph traps. Good luck running bottom
11's. Also, look at the 60's on those cars....1.4's and 1.5's. Yeah...there are a lot
of vettes out there cutting 1.5 60's on drag radials.

in the context of this race, those 3 or 4 each have a few key mods that the car he's racing doesnt have- rear gear or tires

weight plays a big advantage at lower speeds. at high speeds horsepower and aerodynamics have a big advantage where as weight begins to loose its hinderence. from low speeds power/weight is king (and traction!)...to prove this, just watch some car/bike races where the bike will beat the car handily at lower speeds, but at speeds over like 140, the car has an advantage (*given that its not a honda civic vs a 07 gsxr 1000 haha)

from a high roll, the vette will have the aero advantage(dont really know offhand how aerodynamically sound a cobra is?) and cobra will have the hp advantage


I think this will be a close race, both cars have their advantage...
