Seriously the two cars have the same motor, ones just about 1000 pounds heavier.

I don't think a bone stock TBSS would pull a bone stock LS2 GTO 99% of the time. The stock tune really hurts the TBSS.

But, a few bolt-ons and a tune and the TBSS could definitely pull a stock GTO.

Technically, the engines are not identical. The main difference is the intake manifold. The TBSS has a "truck" manifold on it which gives it more low end torque.

But, other than that, pretty much identical.

Maybe if the boltons were a nitrous kit or a supercharger. Those things weigh alot more than GTOs and arent aerodynamic at all. Remember stock GTOs with a good driver cna do high 12s to low 13s. I just dont see a blt on TBSS running that fast but I have been wrong before.

And the stock tune in a GTO is complete and utter ****. Try pulling 13 degrees of timing a running temp.

I hear you. It is hard to imagine a truck that heavy running that quick but it does. There are many TBSSs with just an intake, catback, e-fan and tune running low to mid 13s. With a torque converter, guys are into the 12s.

I have not run a LS2 GTO, so I have no clue on how I would do but I have ran a few 06/07 Mustang GTs and ran door to door or pulled them by a car or so up to around 100mph. I'm sure if we would have kept going, they most likely would have pulled me, but up to 100-110mph, the TBSSs are pretty stout.

By the way, the stock TBSS tune pulls a ton of timing as well. These damn LS2s get really heat soaked; then it feels like you lost 50hp.

def not hanging with a LS2 goat, but with tune and bolt-ons, yes, hang with stock goat, not gonna say beat it, we're going a little extreme on that one. Gotta remember, goats are in the 12's stock(well high 12's) and a 2WD TBSS with all bolt-ons and tune will get down in the 13's, that's about it. Like i said, it'll hang with a stocker, but not pull it

Yeah no doubt on the HP loss, its ridiuclous IMO that they made these motors this way. Are your IATs in your MAF as well sitting directly over the radiator like on my car??

Stock, yes. My new intake has moved the MAF into the filter box so it helps with keeping the temps the MAF reads alittle lower. There is a mod I can get that is supposed to help with this as well.

the TBSS doubters get bit pretty often......

with a decent converter and bolt ons they are FORMIDABLE.....

we had a full bolt on truck with a Yank 3600 doing 12's from WAY BACK.....winter '06-'07...

VIDEO of 12.633 ADMPerfoamce tuned truck owned by PedroG with full bolt ons and 3600 Yank.....this truck has a stack of timeslips in the 12's.....this 12.633 was in like 600+ DA (air played a roll in the time but it ran 12's on the STOCK RSA's for a long time until he cracked off this 12.633 which was the bolt-on PB for this truck......

here is the same truck at Redline running a 7.83 @ 87.57 on 09/23/07 same truck with ported heads with a 220/224 cam.....this was in like nearly 2000+ DA

it has been so long since mine was bolt-on that i could not tell you what it ran if my life depended on it.....in sight of less than 45 days i went in 2 steps from nothing to a L92 H/C combo....so no real consistant bolt-on data for my truck....but with a L92 H/C package it made a PB of 7.68 @ 89.11 at redline in about 700+ DA.....so not bad for a raceweight of 4800ish for me....depends on which tires i run and how full the tank is but it ranges from about 4750-4850.....

but that is a great kill and spanking for him to not try to get more heads up.....the slower the start down to the dig, the scale is heavily in our favor on the street do to GRIP and GEARING (4.10's) combined with 30+" tires....makes for nasty 60's on the street when you plant 4800 to 5000 lbs on top of the wheels....killer street traction....TO A POINT.....but the scale is flipped at about 100........

but all in all a nice kill..........just be mindful more F-body bois are picking up used TBSS's and modding the **** out of them.....too many to count have popped up on our TBSS board....but hey the name of the game is to have a blast with what you bought and meet some good people along the way!!!!!!!!

They can be bought dirt cheap nowadays!

Thankfully I have a lease .

And I'll buy it when it's up, at auction price of course .

More and more are showing up around Frisco. Luckily mine is subtlely different. Except for the noise out of the tailpipe of course .

It never ceases to amaze me how many so called "car" guys are so ignorant about cars...I mean before you talk smack about another vehicle at least read up on it a little...go on their forums and see how fast they are going, search youtube...some of you GTO guys are just plain stupid (no personal offense but you deserved it). Yeah, mod for mod a lighter more aerodynamic vehicle will be faster, but a stock or light-bolt-on goat especially a 6sp with a bad driver can and will get cracked by a bolt-on SS, 2wd or awd. Stop drinking the hateraide we are all LSX powered remember.
