Hey I think this is the best place for this thread, but move it if it needs be. I was just wondering what a 02 Audi TT Quattro 1.8L turbo running about 16 psi would run. I have a friend that just got one and was wondering if it would be a race or not. He said that since the turbo is putting out a little more over stock he should be putting out about 240 hp. I know that is like 100 less than my SS but what about with the weight difference and him off the line? Thanks for the input guys.

Stock its rated at 225 HP @5900rpm and 207lbs torque @ 2900 rpm and curb weight comes in at 3,274 lbs...it wouldnt be a race, depending on drivers but you should kill him from a dig or a roll even tho hes AWD drive just not enough power

Yeah he said it was 225 stock and the turbo was putting out a little more than stock. I didn't know they would be that heavy, yeah I would def take him then. His is a manual and mine is an A4, but he is pretty good with a clutch since his first car was a V6 stang.

Yeah thats what I thought. Our cars are only a couple hundered more than those little things even with our big LS1 and everything.

Ya, he probably has either APR or GIAC software. Just reflashing the ECU gives them alot more power. I had a Jetta before I got smart and bought the Formula. The reflash gives them about 40 more rwhp and torque. Definitly noticable but no where near an ls1.

Exactly. I think a chipped TT has somewhere from 260-270hp and around 270lbs of torque

Something like that. Don't underestimate the car though. The quattro in the TT's can launch really hard..it would be a decent 1/8 mile race but after that you'd pull him hard.

I just ran a pretty quick audi tt that kept up well with my wife's 06 gto auto. I did put about 2 cars on it from 10-80mph though. He must have been chipped and for sure had aftermarket exhaust.

I wouldn't say it is gay. It is def a car a guy can drive but it is also a car that a girl def. can call "cute." Of course my mom has called my car and my step dad's SS's "pretty." I correct her and tell her the word you are looking for is mean or fast.

Why the hell wouldn't he just sell it? And get a Camaro. I hate when rich kids have real expensive cars and they don't take care of them or wreck them and get a brand new car. I guess some people would even consider me spoiled because my parents paid for my first truck, but as soon as I sold that eventhing I get I pay for the difference plus insurance and all mods.

Btw, the friend of mine just bought his used, its a 02 with like 40k on it so its not like he is spoiled, he had a like 98 V6 stang before...

i wasnt assuming he is spoiled at all and i wouldn't consider you to be either i'm happy for people who get a little help like you i bought a nice blazer with a huge lift at 15 years old some people thought i was spoiled because my parents got the loan for me even though i made every payment. and when i bought my TA at 19 i'd get comments like "must be nice to have rich parents" even tho my dads a crack fiend.

but back on topic i think the audi is gay because of it's price, and lack of performance. for the $ and size it could be a killer car. it definitely can get some girls though

I agree that the older ones could have had a bit more performance, but you gotta look at what it was designed to compete with... the Z3's top engine (other than the M-Roadster) had 190hp, the SLK230 had 185hp, the Boxster had 201hp (except the pricier Boxster S). So the 225hp TT Quattro was near the top of the class as far as straightline performance, and even the 180hp base FWD TT wasn't too bad. Of course the S2000 had 240hp, but other than that the TT was sitting pretty nice. The new TT looks better, and I believe it got a power bump too.
