PWNED A GTO in my ss
well my cars a 2000 ss all bolt ons no cam..well my night turned out shitty im on 78 in pennsylvania and i see this car racing up behind me so i dont think anything of it thinking its a civic or some ricer then i see him next to me and it sounds mean im like ok.... he doesnt even beep and floors it i drop it into 3rd from 6th because i was just cruising. Hes going all out I just slap down and floor it i flew by him and he was 3 cars ahead at the time. It probably had just an exhaust but i thought the 5.7 gto's were faster i was expecting to be neck and neck i guess they weigh alot but I really left him far back i dont know how many car lengths but it was quite a distance away it def made my night...still love gto's though

Now, to be completely honest, he was having issues with an aftermarket MAF sensor. We plan to race again to see how it does now that he has the stocker back on, but I don't see it doing much more than pulling even.
People in this section seem to be pretty ignorant to how much torque management is programmed into these cars (yes, the M6's even have it) from the factory. The tune made a bigger seat-of-the-pants difference in my GTO than headers and TD's did on my Z28. It's like a whole different car.

cunfuzed, we have had this discussion before. lol .you love gto's , being in denial is not a good state of mind. putting the gto in the same class of the mustang is a new low even for you. nowwwwwwwwww take it back. lol

ahh mr. confused still hating on what he cant have that was a low blow queer but 5.7s are extremely slow stock especially with stock tune. good kill though!! my 6.0only got beat by maybee a car length vs a full bolt on z28 with a small cam... i had a diablo tune and lingenfelter intake only... driver mod played alot in that race.. plus he went at a roll in 3rd.... ahhh my strong point

Can't have??? Big difference between that and refuse to have. But yes the 5.7 GTO is quite craptacular.

hehe i've never heard that one before but it made me lol a little bit. i agree, there's not much worth saving about those ls1 goats, they weren't as fast or as flashy as an fbody (always thought that they looked like grand am's myself), and, as someone already mentioned, the lousy factory tune. the interiors were kind nice tho...i think...a little bit...
