my z28 is a '00 m6 w/ just magnaflow cat back..

the silver 350z came to this local meet tonight.. cool guy besides his comment about my car not being "inspiring" enough to race..

he informed me w/ the intake, flywheel, and exhuast he has on the car.. he's probably making 300 wheel.. damn those 350's get bang for the buck.. aren't they 285 at the crank stock? lol

he decides he'll humor me with a race..
we get on the highway.. he takes the left lane.. he's hanging back.. goin about 60.. i downshift.. and slow down a bit.. just sitting there w/ the rpms up.. slow down a bit more.. look over he's trying to say something.. figured cop or something..

less then a minute later.. he downshifts.. revs up.. so i'm like ok .. i down shift and light up again.. he's sitting there.... ok.. i lunge forward abit.. then i hear him downshift again.. .. .. we're off.. well.. kinda.. get to the top of third.. .. look up in the rear view and see some pretty nice headlights.. and some smoke from my exhuast.. as i'm shifting to 4th. .keep going a little and let off.. tap the brakes.. ... 350 flys by..

get off the highway.. 350 guy pulls up.. 'That wasn't a fair start!' he rolls up the window and takes off.. so oh **** i take off.. off idle.. by 3rd i'm at his back bumper and let off.. coming up on traffic

guess my car wasn't worth of a real run..

BTW, are you sure your car isn't Navy Blue Metallic (NBM) and not dark blue?

Those 350 Z's are nice cars but running low 14's maybe a high 13, it definitely isn't going to be competition for even a stock LS1 f-body.

I don't think I would call this guy cool after a remark like that. And I SERIOUSLY doubt he is making that much power at the wheels with those few mods. Just like you should expect, you handled him easily. Those things aren't fast at all. Greddy just came out with a turbo kit for them and THEY aren't that fast either. Nice kill. And next time you see that boy, make sure he learned his lesson and still isn't in denial...even if you have to race him again. Make sure you overuse the word "inspire" every time you see him.

yeah i can't stand people like that.. there were alot of s2000 owners like that.. that look down on domestic car.. i'm a car enthusiast.. and can't elitist ******.. no matter what their rolling in.

Lol I can't believe the kid thinks he's an elitist because he drives a $27,000 car that comes a dime a dozen. As far as elite goes he has absolutely no reason to think he's special in his 350z. Next time race him from a dig just so you can how bad you can beat him in the quarter. Believe me when the ricer is cocky theres always a next time. Nice kill and keep that kid in his place.

Good kill. I humbled one a few weeks ago that tried to jump me (came screaming up from behind). I nailed the throttle and he couldn't pass me despite coming up already in his powerband.

Anyway, just a suggestion: if you are going to do a semi-organized race, set up how you are going to run beforehand. For example: "let's go from a 40-punch on the 3rd honk, and shut down at 120". Pick-up races that happen randomly are one thing, but if you are rolling out from the parking lot, it makes sense to set it up right and avoid confusion and screwed up runs.
