trans am from a roll for sure, evo would launch better from a dig, depends what they ran up to but trans am should win both stock vs stock esp if trans am is a manual...

Haven't raced any of the brand new ones but I know the evo 9s are supposed to be pretty quick. From any roll, you should take them. Dig, they should get the jump but you can reel them back when by the time you hit 3rd

i raced a ev9 a few times(same one has minor mods) and it really didnt impress me all that much. he gave my buddies sti a decent run, then i put busses on both of them from all rolls, they insisted on roll races because i habe DR's

I have beat evos but have been told that they are faster than my car. I dont know too much about them so I give them the benefit of the doubt but I will say I dont think I have raced a driver who really knows how to drive well. I would say stock for stock the EVo should have way better traction but with some DRs I think the TA will have a much better chance.

I think the trans am would win stock vs stock. I've beat an sti from a dig and roll quite easily both cars being stock. I know it's not an evo but both are pretty identical in statistics. My cars an auto too.

Evos and STi's are not fast cars. They are quick cars, meaning 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. They only put down 230WHP stock and don't have any top end. From a roll its complete rape, even for a stock 2.73 auto F-body.

You should take the cake.

From rolls, the LS1 car will pull top end but the Evo IX is quicker than you guys are giving it credit for. A buddy of mine bought a brand new Evo IX MR, he took me for a ride and it surprised the hell out of me, def felt a lot stronger than a stock 03 VIII.
From a dig it really is up to the driver of the F Body, if you spin your *** off, especially against a IX, its gonna be tough to catch him running to a reasonable speed.

So the Evo automatically wins how??
The Evo runs low 13's with a super hard 6K clutch frying launch. An LS1 F-body runs low 13's without launching hard. So if the Evo launches hard, its a drivers race. If the Evo doesn't launch his car (maybe he cares about his drivetrain at least a little bit?) the LS1 will murder it.

It is still possible to out-launch somebody in an EVO without doing the biggest ball-to-the-wall 6,000rpm launch. They both run comparable 1/4 mile times, but that's due to the EVO's 1/8 mile performance. An LS1 is coming back HARD in that last 1/8 mile, and they run around the same times... which means a well-driven EVO is a big challenge on the street, especially if you don't run a full 1/4 mile.

For the most part I believe a decent driven LS1 F-body can take a stock Evo even from a dig. I've seen more people who can't launch an Evo than ones that can. On top of that the 03-04's were mid 13sec cars with a decent driver, whereas the 05-06s were more prone to drop into the lower 13sec range.
