Nope, its back in the shop. The motor lost oil pressure and now I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to have to spend more money or if the builder is going to make it good.

If you are looking for a good race I know of a little stock block 5.0 that would run ya. And no, its not the one in my sig.

By stock block do you mean the block or the internals aswell, cause i have a close friend with a 91 lx with a stock block making just over 600hp.

He been running that setup for 2 years, and thats what we thought when we got the whole thing together, but it hasnt blown yet lol. He also has a ford fairmont that hes putting a big block into, but he is gonna have to save up for a long time to get the 2 turbos he wants for it. Should make around 1400rwhp when done

Is it the block that came into the car, or is it a 60's "Mexican" block? Those are stronger.

That is INCORRECT sir.

I know 60s stangs better than I do Mach 1s.

"Mexican" blocks are the same cast. The difference is in teh main caps which were larger.

I always heard the Mexican 302s were the stronger ones? Did they change nothing in the webbing? And if it's not the Mexican blocks, which ones are they

The blocks themselves weren't stronger. The 60s castings weren't changed in regards to 'metal'. The changes were in the caps, and bolt size was increased. It was a 'built to handle higher rpms'.

Ever hear of the HIpo 289?....I think you'd be Shocked at all the 'roomers' about that thing.

So... what's the 302 block that isn't known for cracking down the middle around 500-550rwhp?

The block in the mustang is the 302 block that came with the 91 lx 5.0, cylinders refinished, then it goes from there , the crank was forged that year i believe and the he had forged pistons and rods and then everything else done, with a 67trim turbo. Stand alone fuels managment, the weak parts of the car is the block which he said he wants to buy a dart 351 and build that with his turbo kit and his tranny, the suspension and rear end are built to handle the power
