So basically those motors must run like **** when you start modding them if you need to angle the exhaust tips downward to prevent carbon from building up in the bumper. I guess thats what happens when you try and get high horsepower out of a 4 cylinder, you end up running way too rich in the lower RPM's before you actually get it into the powerband. I've seen this on just about every 4 cylinder import on the road, civics to evos, the bumpers are black or burned near the exhaust tip.
My car has true duals, no cats, and bolts ons with a tune. Quad exhaust tips stick straight out the back, and I don't get any carbon on my bumper. I guess having an engine that runs properly makes all the difference.

Yea, pretty much. The 00 and 01 S2000's are very rich from the factory. They start to lean them out a little starting with 02. You are right, though. Most V8's won't get gunk on the bumper without a cat...but most 4 cylinders will. You see that on turbo cars, especially, because they HAVE to be at least somewhat rich, or they'll lean out their car into high boost and blow the motor. Richer is safer but leaves gunk as well as robbing power.

True! Especially w/ idiot's who just bolt **** on and think it's good to go. I run a Utec that is a piggy back to my ECU. The factory computer controls the car until boost starts, then the Utec takes over and leans or richen s the car and adjust timing.

He is getting twin turbos now and coming back for some more. Hope I can still hold him off. He is saying between 500-550 whp. With the new set up.

I think my traps are good enough, I just don't think the 10 bolt can handle a 1.5 60ft and drag radials.
