No it would get pulled hard freeway, a 12 second evo what does that mean, i have seen evos hit 12s with full exhaust and a tune. But only dyno 250-260 or so horsepower to the wheels. Because they can launch soo hard, like i said. I have worked on a couple evos, the only time a friends evo pulled me was after he got cams installed and he had full bolt ons. a 3300lbs car with 260whp vs a 3500lbs car with 300+rwhp, the ls1 will win everytime on a roll with those circumstances. With cams and bolt ons and tune he was making about 320 hp to the gound he got me by about 2 cars. Then he got a huge turbo and it was over lol.

Yeah pretty much We put strains on our car like crazy too though. Launching at 5500 on a 10 bolt well.... haha you know what happens there.

OO BTW good kill and better luck from the dig next time

Nice kills and losses, OP.

Sounds like some real sticky tires should be purchased soon so I can remove "and losses" from my comment.

BTW thanks for calling me a retard, that was necessary
an evo even with stock turbo and tuned with turbo-back exhaust still wont spool at 3000rpm in 3rd gear (a good highway roll gear). its going to spool about 3500rpm for evo 9 and slightly faster (3400rpm) for an evo 8. the evo 8 has the smaller hotside (quicker spool, less top end), and it has slightly taller gearing the the evo 9 5 speed. regardless, you don't want to be rolling at 3500 rpm if your about to race. you want to be higher in the rpm band, and then brake boost on top of that to eliminate as much of the lag as possible.

I was guessing on those rpms, my legacy is spooled by 3k in 3rd it hits 17psi max at 3000 thats with an open source tune. and i put down more than a stock evo does

his best was a 12.3 but i thought maybe 11's since it was so "fast"... i know i only drive a mid 13 sec car and i don't consider it fast.

he chose 75 & 85 by pulling up 2 me revving and slowing to 75 and thats where he beeped 3 off

Race from a 40 roll...

ill try that he came out last Saturday i'd rather do a 35 kick though... it should be a better race he'd probably win???? i hook pretty well being stock but pulll strong at 35...

Evos don't have **** for top end. Remember, a 12.3 second Evo is like a 13.3 second Evo from a roll because you can't make up all that time by launching.

As for brake boosting, it shouldn't be necessary on any street vehicle with less than about 700WHP. Its called buy a vehicle with a properly sized turbo instead of a pile of **** 4 cylinder that struggles to spool its relatively small turbo. Ever seen a twin turbo V8 lag from a punch?? Unless its got some massive turbos, its not going to. They spool instantly and off you go.

Higher RPM = higher PSI = more HP
Maybe someone else can explane it better to you.
im not sure exactly what brake boosting is but as soon as you let off the brake or clutch your speed and gearing decide your rpm so the benefits would be minimal if any

Brake boosting simply puts more load on the engine and thus the turbo spools and you build boost. Speeds8er posted a vid recently that shows a perfect example of the difference in with and w/o brake boosting (along with a driver mod lol):

Thank you finally someone understands, that evos suck from rolls, he may have went a 12.3 but what was his trap, probably not even as high at my T/A when i ran a 12.78. On a roll you need to look at trap speed, i have seen ls1s cars run 13.6s and trap 105-107 and my legacy ran a 13.6 and trapped a 98mph, because its AWD. From a dig i can keep up with some stock f-bodys, from a roll i can only keep up with low to mid 14 second f-bodys, which is usually only LT1 cars

I've done many stops on the highway. You have a bunch of car behind you start slowing down to slow traffic down then you can do it. or at least a 40 roll insted of 75-80.. Also noone can get your plate numbers that way
