12sec evo vs. stock TA
#64
Well with cams and a big turbo he would really be pushing the internals, like i said my friends made around 470-480awhp but it was brand new and sold after running that setup for only 10kmiles. Im sure something is f-ed up on that car by now, all the beating it went through

Cammed LS1 cars are nothing to be taken lightly though

Evos are fun cars, but im tired of AWD turbo cars. Not to mention its the same engien as the eclipse and talon, once the evos start getting old in couple years, you wil lsee alot with 100k+miles sold for cheap with broken parts. Im not trying to be a dick and say DSMs suck, but if you put boost on any engine for 100k+miles something is gonna break.

Lol my legacy has almost the same engine as a STI, i find it to be fun but nothing when compared to the T/A, hell my supra was putting down 517rwhp compared to the T/As 357rwhp and i still prefered to drive and race the T/A, even with the 160rwhp loss

well my cars a boring but friendly auto, these little m6's were a blast punching it around a corner from a stop without getting sideways.... i guess daily drivin the stock TA for 3 years has made it to predictable? i would never take one of those lil guys over a TA tho

you kinda shot yourself in the foot on this one.. You just made it clear that they need help spooling there little turbos so there for a brake boost would help them.. Look at the video

thats what it looked like when I raced my friends evo when he brake boosted

Let me explain again:
You shouldn't have to brake boost on the street.
A properly sized turbo will spool almost instantly.
Evos are only tiny 2.0L's, so even with a small turbo they have bad turbo lag. So brake boosting helps.
In other words, what I'm saying is I think Evos are pieces of **** seeing as they still need to brake boost even though their turbos are relatively small.

He had cams and a bigger turbo.. front mount.. exhaust.. I'm not sure on the specs. I never really cared to know them haha.
He paddled me. We went from a 50. I wanted to go lower but it wouldn't have mattered. He put about 5 cars on me. and all of that was from brake boosting because it was all from the start then I held him.

No, I wouldn't say that.

All in all brake boosting helps especially with these cars

They don't have "noticeable" turbo lag at all. It uses the same LNF engine as the new Cobalt SS.
It has 260ft/lbs at a very low 2,000RPM which is very impressive for a 4 cylinder. So by 2K RPM the turbo is spooling. If you consider that "lag" then you're on crack.

Depends on whose driving it. Obviously its not going to have the low end punch of a V8, but its no Evo or STI, either.
