Evos don't have **** for top end. Remember, a 12.3 second Evo is like a 13.3 second Evo from a roll because you can't make up all that time by launching.
As for brake boosting, it shouldn't be necessary on any street vehicle with less than about 700WHP. Its called buy a vehicle with a properly sized turbo instead of a pile of **** 4 cylinder that struggles to spool its relatively small turbo. Ever seen a twin turbo V8 lag from a punch?? Unless its got some massive turbos, its not going to. They spool instantly and off you go.

Thank you finally someone understands, that evos suck from rolls, he may have went a 12.3 but what was his trap, probably not even as high at my T/A when i ran a 12.78. On a roll you need to look at trap speed, i have seen ls1s cars run 13.6s and trap 105-107 and my legacy ran a 13.6 and trapped a 98mph, because its AWD. From a dig i can keep up with some stock f-bodys, from a roll i can only keep up with low to mid 14 second f-bodys, which is usually only LT1 cars

Lol yes but an evo would be spooled by 3300rpms and a tuned evo by 2800-3000 or so. So its not like you wouldnt be in the rpm range just the boost isnt up yet. I own 2 turbo cars and i wouldnt ever do that lol No wonder people brake there evos left and right.
BTW thanks for calling me a retard, that was necessary

I have no experience with the BRAND NEW EVOS that just came out, but from what i've heard they aren't as fast as the EVO IX(9)s.
Brake boost may help the EVO get the initial jump. Confidence 'boost' if you ask me.
Any of this other talk is just riff raff.

I had a friend who cammed his evo like i said, it was damn close, but he also had every damn bolt on and a tune, from a roll we were within a car. Then he got a huge turbo and started running 32psi and it was over, but he sold the car and got a 99 SS lol whoever got that car after him is in trouble, he ran 32psi on a huge turbo on stock internals, and then returned the car to stock when he sold it. About 480AWHP

And i'll bet you should still get him from a 35-40 roll as well. You should have no problem against any stock turbo from a roll, especially when you really get into your top end. Only exception is MAYBE with cams, but I still would see the EVO getting pulled up top.

I've seen so many modded Evo's that don't run for ****, so I can understand the comment you are making. But I wouldn't get his hopes up too high about running a stock turbo Evo, as he might get disappointed one day.

noone here is saying a stock turbo evo cant be kinda fast, i would say deep 12s high 11s is kinda where you would need a new turbo for sure, but on roll races if you dont have a new turbo a cammed ls1 car will take them everytime

MOST of the time, stock turbo EVOS won't pull LS1s UP TOP. Exceptions are LIMITED to non-stock turbo evos or basically full bolt-on evos with cams/tune/full exhaust/boost controller/..... all the other little stuff they gotta do. I forget what all my buddy's extensive line of mods he has are yet he still can't pull me other than off the line. He hasn't done cam work or swapped his turbo yet though.

Absolutely. Damn, I was referring to stock LS1s.
