Default My SS vs 04 Mach 1

SS: GMMG, LID, FTRA, P&P TB, & LS6 INTAKE (324.57rwhp ???rwtq)
Mach 1: Off road X-pipe & SLP loudmouth (290rwhp 312rwtq)

Me and my friend went to race a couple of weeks ago and he ended up getting me by a car. We started in 2nd gear (55mph) and I had a passenger that's about 120-125lbs or so. By mid 4th gear he had a full car on me and we shut down. Mid pipes on mustangs must really make a difference. When we raced last time when he had his stock H-pipe I pulled him by about 1.5 cars, but we both didn't have passengers then. I've seen him beat other LS1's too. He also raced one of our friends WS6 and beat him by about a full car too. The WS6 had a passenger too and its an A4. The WS6 ran a 12.9 I believe. I've ran several Mach 1's and his is the fastest I've seen so far. Also I don't have torque #'s because the dyno wasn't reading my torque or anyone elses for some odd reason. Do you guys think if I didn't have a passenger I would've edged him out? I've also needed a new clutch for more than a year now, but I never installed it yet. We'll run em again as soon as my new clutch is in and broken in.

Haha... Well I'm not ashamed to post a loss. I used to take Mach 1's lightly, but now I know what they're capable of.

I would've kicked out the passenger IF it wasn't my girlfriend. HAHA...or maybe I should've gave her the boot anyway.

Ha! If it was the booty call you could have just placed her on the curb .. Next time, have the girl flag a drag race. If you know your car well.

I've only raced from a dig 2 times. I'm not very good from the dig.

LOL! I think you should've won this race OP. I've ran many, many full exhaust Machs (two of which had the LM, raspy as hell) and they were only able to yank a small bit out the hole but i'd end up pulling by late 2nd/early 3rd. Easily. This was when my car was Catback only.

I don't want to do it but, Ex: One friend Had an 04 Mach1, Slp longtubes, orX, LM2, 4.10's tuned. He was giving strong running Full Exhaust Ls1's some trouble before and after gears. Im just not seeing it happening unless your SS traped 111.

well the girl in your car is good to the equivilant to like a 15 horsepower loss give or take. And i think you said it, if you need a new clutch get it. If you cant get your peak power down that might be killing you. But good runs.

well 4.10's really wake up those cars and a tune is worth a good amount also.

Who puts Headers on and doesn't tune? Yes each race has its own outcome. But catback cars chasing down stout Mach's. Thats stretching it a chunk.

I like the looks of Mach1's. Good kill. I raced a guy around here that had a super charged one. He claimed to be the fastest street car in town........................he wasn't.

Nice race. That passenger probably made the difference between your loss and a ridiculously close race, especially since you said your buddy can drive. Definitely do it again without the passenger before changing anything (well, swap your clutch if it's giving you problems or you'll fry your tranny and wreak all sorts of havoc on your car).

That sounds like the fastest street car in town to me. I'm gonna need a video to validate your claim that he wasn't.

i think if you've needed your clutch changed for a year, i would say your clutch is holding you back, it should be a good run but with you out in front at the end.

Very bad video. Almost ashamed to post it.

He wanted the dig because he said it would be a closer race.

Agreed.

The extra weight from a passenger made a bit of difference, but I don't think enough to make up over 1 full car length. If you are having clutch issues, than that's what I would guess made a big difference.

Get a new clutch and run this guy again with no passengers and see what happens.
