Was it the DSG trans or the M6?
I've heard very good things from the owners of the DSG.

I bought my SVT Focus when I was 16....needless to say, its a nice car for a 16 year old, so I loved it.

I ran 15.215 @ 93.25 bone stock. They're not 16 second, high 15, or even mid 15 second cars stock. I'm sure I could have dipped into the 14s that day but I ran out of time at the track. Not blistering fast by any means, but very respectable given the power of the car and its design (to handle).

I put some spray on it and ran 13.2 @ 107 on 225 Kuhmo Ecstas. I would have easily been in the 12s with drag radials. I ran away from bolton LS1s on the street - it did NOT pull like a 107mph car.
I can not conjure up words that accurately describe how embaressed I feel for u, A.)defending an SVT Focus, B.) and then lying about your quarter times. You should be ashamed

yep. i guess patrick has the fastest stock svt focus on earth. i mean i can go pull about 15 stock svt times all 15.5+ and alot slower traps. must just be he is a awesome driver and is able to get that "extra" hp out of the manual

note these are avrage 60fts for them lol
1/4-----trap---60ft
16.416 86.350 2.342 Ford Focus SVT 2002 RJ
16.178 88.760 2.618 Ford Focus SVT 2003 Mark Lockwood
16.080 87.960 2.612 Ford Focus SVT 2002 Gabe Salas

i can keep going . and pull more somefrom svt forums. fact is they are 16 sec to high 15's around 87mph

on perfect conditions 0 DA you mabe can hit 15.5 to 15.7 stockaround 89mph mabe and stock Means factory tires also.

15.2@93... sorry buddy mabe at Atco at -20 degrees ambiant air. track temp of 120(dont ask how) with a wind of about 50mph pushing you. ntm a Crater hitting and making the track have a downward angle. GL with all of that.

just say you had a tune/intake/exhaust and i might belive you then.

I ran a intake/exhaust/mail-order tune 99 V6 and it wasn't much of a race. The S197 V6s are leaps and bounds better than the 99 models, so I believe it.

I agree. Like I said, not quick by any means, but lets face it, they were designed to be a DD more so than anything else.

I wanted the 99 Trans Am at the lot across the street I bought the Focus from, but the parents wouldn't go for it. I reluctantly settled for the car, but it kind of grew on me. For a DD for a 16 year old it was great. Alot nicer than most cars that 16 year olds drive around here.

"some" spray??? You mean, at least a 150 shot right? You don't just drop 2 seconds at the strip on street tires from using a little nitrous. I don't really see your stock focus standing up to well to a 150+ shot either.

Now you're just being ignorant. A stock LS1 (excluding 2.73 cars) can trap 107+ at the strip. And you "ran away" from a bolt'on LS1, from a roll? I'm not finding any part of your story believable.
It was a 125 shot. Sure, the times dropped 2 seconds, but its not all due to the nitrous. I learned to drive the car better, had better conditions, a bit of a tail wind, etc, etc. Hell, I've seen people drop .5 seconds off their STOCK LS1 cars just by learning how to drive/handle/manipulate the car.

The LS1 I raced was a 98 Z28 with a lid, k&n, cat deletes, and a flowmaster catback. A4 car, it ran 13.3 @ 104-105 (what the owner told me).

Thats all I'm getting at. Don't know why others are getting butt hurt about it. Theres absolutely no reason to be embarrassed, disappointed, or surprised about an SVT Focus. They are MADE to be a cheap, entry level daily driver with nice amenities (premium sound, two tone, in dash 6 cd, etc, etc). I mean.....who cares if they're stupid slow?

See all the above. I quite frankly could give a ****. I try to provide a little information in which I know to be true/have done or witnessed first hand, as opposed to this "My sister's roommate's nephew's girlfriend's parent's neighbors has one and it went 19.2 @ 57mph....in the 1/8th mile!!!"

If you don't believe the times that is fine. Doesn't bother me either way.

2.6 60' times??? C'mon now, it doesn't take a genious to realize thats terrible. My sister cut a 2.3 her first and only time ever driving the car. Hell, it was only the second standard she had ever drove.

And yes, you caught me, the car wasn't stock............it had the silencer removed from the intake box to make it louder, and a stainless exhaust tip!!!

Just stumbled across this old *** video.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/S...mdum_28396.htm

Thats on the 75 shot with 600psi bottle pressure. The SRT trapped 102mph at South Georgia Motorsports Park. The second race he came by me as I went into 5th gear, which is WELL past 1/4 mile trap speeds. Now, if I pull a 102mph car with 600psi of bottle pressure and a 75 shot, what makes it so difficult to believe I pulled a 104-105mph car with 1000psi of bottle pressure and a 125 shot?

Entertaining thread. With premium at $4.50 a gallon I'll leave the Focus's and Cobalts to the GT's.

Its so sad people actually try to mod/race the split-port V6's...
Almost makes me ashamed to tell people I've owned 4 different Mustang's including the Cobra.

If you ran those times bone stock, which seem to be better than any stock SVT focus on earth according to SVT timeslip databases, then how did you improve on driving?

When you add damn near 150hp to a car, you have to relearn to drive it. 125 worth of spray, I deleted the cat, added a CAI, and tuned it.

My first nitrous pass ever was a 14.5 @ like 95mph because I didn't know how to drive the car.

Dude whatever! You are clearly dealing with professionals. Quarter mile time doesn't mean hit the gas and count as fast as you can to the next telephone pole. Back to busch league with you.

I've added nearly 150 w/o spray to mine, does that mean right is left, up is down, gas is brake? Relearn the car... cut the ****
