Not exactly but I can assume you meant a Roush 427r though.

I don't doubt it. GT500's are overrated stock. (heck, Will Smith couldn't even outrun a deer in one. lol!) However with just a simple tune +50hp, tune/intake +100hp and the engine is built to endure (all forged internals).

Young kid, Katrina insurance money??

I was born/raised on Sylvia Drive in Bucktown, 5 minutes from the boat launch. Left 2 years prior to Katrina but miss the place badly. Sounds like it's still a fun place to live.

HOw do you say over rated? low to mid 12s (with a competant driver) and low 11's with CAI, pulley, tune, Exhaust. Along with a block that can handle it day in and day out.

Wait....I see you just contradicted yourself. LOL Seriously though, that isn't over rated. Was the Hype stupid? Yes, are they to be feared much bone stock? Not really (pending what you have), but over rated?...I wouldnt' say that. 600+rwhp with simple bolt ons ($2k), what other car can do that without touching the block and that has a block that will last at that level? None. (well, none that I can think of right now on two sips of coffee).

The woman that shares my parking garage at work has one. She got this cute little license plate that says "seeyou". I know that car will never be anything other than a stock 12.5-13 second car (probably closer to +13 second with her driving it). Am I hating? YES!

Sometimes hearing guys talk down, assuming, on women drivers (regarding racing) cracks me up. That's when they just might surprise you and you get the 'OH ****' look. But you know her, I don't. And since she has that plate, you're probably right. In my experience, if people have a custom plate like that, there's a high chance they are more bark than bite and have no idea what they are doing.

I can't stand the drivers (arrogance), but I love the car. I almost bought one, but I laughed in teh dealers face when they told me they wouldn't go less than $20k above sticker. Guess what?..that was 2 years ago and the car is still in the showroom. LOL

UNIT....yeah we got the damn twin disk in and can't get the pack right. I am buying an adjustable master to fix the problem if it's not the pack. Everything was done as it should of been done, in theory anyways. So all I can think is throw of my master isn't enough. DUNNO. Next will be the TO bearing. if that doesn't get it right.......4L80E swap for a built T56 with McLeod twin disk.LOL The bullet holes should be fixable. Just time for me now is a factor.

UNIT... Yes a 4l80 would be ideal for big HP. The six spd is F'n fun when dialed in correctly. I will be saving for a 4L80 for when I really want to go fast on the 1320. I am currently refusing to let this beat me.LOL

It's more frustrating than fun when you get to a certain power level.
There is a lot to be said for being able to hook & book with an auto.

And I would rather win drag races with a stalled auto then bang gears while losing to one. To each his own.

I all depends IMO. If its a straight drag car, then ya, a stalled auto is the way to go but if its a streetcar that you run at the trac sometimes then i would keep the 6spd for havin more fun. thats my .02 that wasnt asked for hehe.

Ever drive a car that makes 700+rwhp with a manual trans on the
street? If not, you don't know what I'm talking about.
