I actually think the GT500's would be doing better at the 1/4 track on average if they had come with a well sorted auto tranny option from the factory. Launching such a heavy high hp PD blower car with a stick is just too much of a handful for most owners. Just look at the SRT8 Chargers/300s....making high 12 second passes with just 425hp and over 2 tons of curb weight. The Shelby is a low 12 second car that just can't get out of the hole very well in stock form. JMO

I would not call it a rocket at all. The fastest magazine has it rated at a 12.6, and thats Mustang and Fast Fords. Every video i've seen of them or watched in real life they have gone anywhere from 12.4(only seen once) to a 14.0 with bad drivers. Most ofte times i've seen are 12.7s - 12.9s, not impressive at all if you ask me for a $60k+ Mustang
With 500 miles on the odometer, mine put down 442whp/438rwtq on a local DynoJet and that translated to a 12.72@107mph at Beech Bend Raceway in Bowling Green on the stock Goodyear tires with a 2.012 60ft. I'm certainly not a great driver, but I'm not bad, either.
With addition of a Kenne Bell blower, upgraded TB and MAF and a set of 265/40-18 Mickey Thompson drag radials, the car ran a, 11.49@126mph at the same track this spring in 95 degree temps with a 1.92 60ft. This was with the 3.25 upper pulley making 13 lbs of boost. (5lbs more than stock).
With more seat time, a better 60ft and cooler air, I pretty sure it will go 10's with the exact same setup. For the record, the car made 618rwhp/565rwtq in this state. The car weighs 4050 with me in it and sports the stock 3.31 rear gears.
