Default Police Spotting Tips - By State

Okay. This thread isn't about an awesome kill, or a horrible let down. This isn't about how our beautiful American Muscle trashed on some piece of **** import. No. This is about how to spot the folks who, while protecting us on occasion, also enjoy hampering our fun. So, I propose this be stickied, and we list, by state, how we individually spot cops. Or just in general. I'll start off with how I spot them in Missouri -

Headlights! All Crown Vic lights are the same, but here in MO, they have clear turn signals. They also run with their brights on. Aways. Secondly, black wheels with silver center caps. ALL the police vehicles around here run with those. Third: Obviously, the colors. These varry by state. Here in MO, it tends to run Black front quater panels\hood, white doors\roof, and then black trunk\quarter panels, with white and reflective silver lettering.

Another thing to look for in Missouri is.. get this: un marked Dodge Caravans. Yes, you read right. Anyways, feel free to update this with your own forms of spotting cops, and how we can all prevent one another from getting pulled over, if possible.

ct- crown vis are obvious, stateys are blue or grey, with shiney lettering and racks (always watch for the amber corners at night), if it is unmarked and tinted crown vic it usually is a statey but you can tell by the police interceptor badge on the driverside of the trunk
they have too many uc cars to list, but the mains to look out for is the chargers these days, black or silver tinted out but you can usually tell by the antena on the back window.

ri- silver chargers and blue crown vics

In Maryland beware of jeep libertys and a silver honda accord. My jaw dropped when i saw an unmarked accord pull someone over on rt 29. Also unmarked large chevy and ford suv's. Those SUV's have gotten me twice now.

Black and white Chargers and CVPI's here. There are more and more "civilian" looking ones, stock wheels, more civilian colors like dark red and light blue, being outfitted with police equipment and being used by the PD's. They also use Ford Expeditions and the State Troopers use CVPI's and Suburbans.
edit-Oh! Can't forget this little nugget:

In NY the state troopers have navy blue crown vics with reflective yellow tape on both sides. They've changed to the stupid low and thin headlights, making them less visible and more aerodynamic. Basically, if it's a crown vic slow the hell down. There is also a police tahoe and two police camaros that frequent route I-90, probably the biggest interstate in NY (buffalo to boston).Supposedly they're switching to the new impala, which would be a serious pain because all the new chevy sedans have the same (or similar) front.

i saw a new style black impala on the tv show "speeders"...you couldnt even tell it was a cop car until he flipped the lights on...he had the lights inside at the top of the front glass and hiddin behind the grill...very sneaky...and around here u gotta watch out for the UC chargers like everyone else said, my dad pulled me over in a black uc charger when they first got them, lol...Also not sure if they still have it, but a town 30mins from mine had a yellow uc 00-04 gt mustang when street racing was REAL popular over there..

AL: Wow...

1. Crown Vics (of course) - Marked/Unmarked
2. Chargers - Black and always hard to spot
3. BMW R1100 bikes - Yeah those are really easy to see
4. Late-model Impalas - Deputy Sheriffs drive them
5. Tahoes - Black or silver and always unmarked
6. G35 sedans - Silver/Black. I nearly pissed my pants when I saw one.
7. Dodge Stratus - Of all things. I think I'd just speed up a little.

We have chargers and all the normal vics, impala's, etc in Florida..the other day I saw a new mustang S197 pulling people over on I-95. Our state troopers also still use the camaro's which are easy to spot.

132mph - Magnum 3.5L
134mph - Magnum 5.7L
135mph - Charger 3.5L - Note: .96 mile to get to 120mph... top speed numbers are far from a good indicator of it's speed.
150mph - Charger 5.7L

Now I know why I took 155mph speed limiter off. Should be good for about 170-175.

Whoever posted about MD, you are right. I have seen almost any type of car with a fully dressed police officer inside and concealed lights in this state. All cars are potential ticket writers until you see who's driving.

theres a kb fox here, 79-84 w/ the lights behind the grill and no lightbar. no exterior markings, white

the guy who owns it is a cop and leases it to the city for a penny a year so he drives it on duty.

also saw a marauder in florida

AZ is a lot of crown vics

But there was an undercover silverado I have seen pull a few people over, and it has as large as, or at least as large as 18 inch rims.

Tons of undercover crown vics too, in various neutral colors. See a crown vic, slow the **** down, and wait until you see the "G" on the plate, or the handicap sign.

The problem with AZ though, is that ******** drive decommissioned crown vics, and have all the radio crap and random mirrors still attached, so it's hard to tell sometimes.
