Default Non ls1 race.. mustang gt involved

New generation 4 door altima v6 vs 02 mustang gt.

The mustang pulls up to the altima at a red light revin the engine. They slowly pull away and at about 35 the mustang hits the gas. The altima then returns the favor jumping up to the mustang and easily moving by the mustang.

Idk if the mustang had any mods but the altima was stock.

I'm guessing the altima had the 3.5 in it.

Haha, GT owners HAVE to be used to being upset quite often while racing.

Nah, LT1's are a bit faster than those GT's. No need to get offended, I don't see a GT in your sig...

Is this for real?? A 3.5L Altima can pulled a GT???

Wow, in all honesty if I owned a Mustang and got beat by someone who doesnt give a **** about cars in a V6 4 door Altima (not saying you dont, but the majority of the people who own these uses them as DD's and dont give 2 ***** about cars) I would be mighty pissed off and confused

I would have loved to have seen that........I mean the MGT guy is the one that instigatedt he race.. (I'm sure thinking an easy kill) and then loosing.....all in a 4door sedan.

BTW - how do you know the altima was stock? Not trying to defend the stang, just curious.

The problem is....MGT's are pretty Cheap V8s. YOu get people that see "V8, Mustang, GT" and automatically think they are king of the road. Lots of ignorant young folk out there. OR, they simply like mustangs that much, won't buy a sixxer and just like to toy around until they can make it fast. Hell, if I could, I'd get a 'slow' GT and slowly start doing things to it....they make nice sleepers, especially if you toss a 4V with 3.73s in them.

i wonder if the 4 doors are actually faster than the coupes because motor trend ran the 3.5 coupe and got a low 14 quarter mile. not any faster than an edge gt.

I was the driver of the Altima. It's stock. Not many aftermarket parts for it anyway.. But yea the gt owner I know had to be upset. I think he had a friend in there with him.

Yea alot of people underestimate the car. It's not a v8 but it satisfies. The cvt transmission is excellent.

Yea, I hate it when 4 door sedans pass me up.

Of course, I never race any......so that might have something to do with it.

Good kill to the OP. And +1 on the CVT tranny, my wife's Versa SL has one. Very smooth, just takes a while to get used to the whole "gearless" acceleration feel.
