Default Quick race with a 08 Stang GT.

had a quick little run with one. he was coming by me on the right lane and goosed the throttle as he passed by so i sped up a bit to catch up beside him and i guess he heard my Sweet Thunders roar at him a bit and thought i was gonna do a flyby. he took off. so i followed suit i caught him and passed by from about 29mph-80ish. i told him i wasn't stock so it wasn't a fair race. and he goes "you would be surprised". he asked my mods so i told him and then he goes. "oh yea you got me then" said he ran 13.3 Stock. was a clean looking black one with the hood scoop in the center. though unless they come with some Really Really Throaty exhaust he at-least had that done.

was a cool kid. probly a senior in Highschool. said he was getting a Supercharger and we would run again. i said sure. so ill probly get waxed good then.

Hell yah! lol. With our crappy, powdered, weak-*** rods that Ford endowed us with in the 4.6 3V that's the best route. Blow it until it breaks and then build it back up correctly .

once i finish my last semester this year. and move to my new job in Jan. i plan on doing that heh

On a more serious note - How are the new 3V 4.6's when it comes to boost in stock form?? How much boost/power can they take on the stock components?? Just curious.

Good race. I didnt think those GT's were even remotely able to compare to a 12 second LS1. How much power are they putting to the wheels? What are their norm quarter times?

Then you have my condolences.....But please stay with mustangs they fit you. You sure can get a cobra and purchase the cheap mods but enjoy the 25k+ price tag. Also, the LS1 puts out around 345-355 to the crank which is not too close to the Mach 1. While they are close in track times the LS1 does have a slight edge. Like you said though you can just put a blower on it, but so can we except with more cubes to throw around. It is funny how it takes a special edition mustang to beat a basic F-body.

Dude not to put a damper on this great quote...But you could buy a GT in 2002 with a V8 for the same price as a 6'er RS. That means your basic F-body is an upgrade and threrefor would take a Mustang upgrade to give you a run.

By the way a GT will smoke an RS and sound alot better doing it.

(03 cobra brand new)

so are the ss and the ws6 not "special edition"? i was under the impression that they were...so guess what the cobra is still faster...and guess what else? mach 1 which isn't the most expensive is just as fast.

and i kinda got a kick out of the point about the ls1 making 345 crank hp...then you said the times are close and ls1 has slight edge...so what is so impressive about that? the ls1 has 40 more hp and the mach 1 runs the same times? wow that is amazing. and i know a guy (former owner of 2 ls1 camaros) that got his cobra with 475 to the wheels for 21 or 22. and i've seen them for less than that. i've seen them at 18, 19 and a few for 16 and 17. i've looked at two ws6's...one with 90,000 miles was still 16K and one with 40,000 miles was 18K.

and on a side note...the former camaro owner that has a cobra now said he wouldn't be going back to an fbody unless it was a vette. so say what you like. i just don't prefer the lsx unless its a vette. love vettes...would be a hard choice between cobra and vette. i'd be happy with either.

and an even better point...a c5 vette= 42K

just as fast 03/04 cobra= 35K

the corvette is supposed to be the higher end car (above the t/a and camaro) and the cheaper cobra is just as fast. so the cobra is keeping up with the higher end GM car.

Hold Up!!!!! A Mach 1 Makes More Than 305 Crank Hp. That Would Be A Gt. The Mach 1 Makes Like 400 Hp At The Crank From Reading What The Mustang Guys On This Site Are Saying. They Have More Hp And Run Close To What The 50 Hp Less Ls1 Runs. Ive Got Nothing Against Mustangs. They Are Gorgeous Cars. And Sound Bad ***. As Far As A Cheaper Car, I Drove A 04 Gt With 5k On It And When I Got Back In My 99 Z28 With 109k On It My Stock Tranny Shifter Was Way Tighter Than That Mustangs.
