Had a great race with a Mach 1!
I just got back from the track, and my last run was with a Mach 1. It seemed to be stock (I couldnt tell because I dont know much about them and it didnt sound modded), and it was in an event at NYIRP (New York International Race Park, which is a 1/4 mile drag strip) called the Street Car Shootout which New Era and a few other local shops put on.
My Formula will not launch good. Its doin 2.2 60ft's and was just driving me nuts (first time at the track). They were doing a "pro tree" setup for the lights or something like that, and I had no idea they were using that for the runs today. It was something they usually didnt do but put it in place for the event (during warm-ups). My first run ever went:
R/T: 1.057
60': 2.366
330: 6.277
1/8: 9.444
MPH: 77.98
1000: 12.143
1/4: 14.409
MPH: 99.43
Now that I know were using a pro-tree light system... It gets a little better ()
R/T: .902
60': 2.206
330: 6.084
1/8: 9.231
MPH: 78.71
1000: 11.915
1/4: 14.169
MPH: 99.93
Getting the hang of it a little more... Run 3 was pretty much identical to run 2, but I trapped 1mph faster.
Now for the run with the Mach 1.
My formula:
R/T: .796
60': 2.230
330: 6.083
1/8: 9.210
MPH: 79.04
1000: 11.875
1/4: 14.118
MPH: 100.37
Mach 1:
R/T: .700
60': 2.085
330: 5.914
1/8: 8.982
MPH: 82.02
1000: 11.633
1/4: 13.920
MPH: 95.70
I was comming on strong, but he held on for the win. I thought I was going to get him, but then we ran out of track! .
It was a great race, and I thought it was worthy of posting. I just wish I could have launched better and got my 60' down so I could have possibly beat him!

Thanks guys.
Yeah, I'm looking into tires and a few other things that would help me get that 60ft down. I was really hoping to get into the 13's today, but that 60ft was just destroying all hopes .

He did not let off, and especially not well before the finish line... I was literally a car and a half back at the line.. He pulled up to the 1/8 on me, and then I started to slightly gain back after that.
look at the time slip, and you can see what I am talking about.

IDK much about Mach 1's.. Maybe he was trapping inbetween a shift or something. Who knows, but all I know is that he wasnt letting off. I'm not in here trying to post something thats false, I got a time slip to back it up, and I'm almost positive I could find a video someone might have taken of the race. I will post my time slip up or figure out how to get it to show everyone.

I'm trying to see if anyone has a video, but I found a picture of the Mach 1. I'm almost positive its from the race I was in with him (I'm in the left lane) but I dont know because I cant see my car.
The owner was pretty cool though.

Maybe the guy needs more practice shifting or missed a gear, either way good run.
