Default BMR or UMI? lca's, phb...

which would you choose? regardless of brand, both LCA's are chromoly, and have QA1 rod ends and are double adjustable.

which would you go for? or does it even matter?

Both make great products. You won't go wrong with either one.

Both lca'S are close, but here are a couple of factors:

Most F-Body racers down here at the LSx ShootOut are using BMR products. Very few are using UMI products. If you talk to people with 600, 700, or 800+ horsepower, you'll find that most of them are running BMR!!

Most BMR products are in stock and ready to ship. Call us on Monday and we'll ship it same day.

Good Luck!!

I prefered UMI's 3 pt subframes and T/As...so my vote goes to them. As everybody said, you cant go wrong either way

I'd personally go with UMI. For one... BMR doesn't have a poly/rod ctrl arm combo and UMI does so that's a no brainer. Another would just be word of mouth, including Sam Strano who recommends UMI stuff as well, and I buy a ton of my stuff and get a lot of good advice from Sam.

Actually we do offer a poly/rod combo lower control arm we just haven't had time with all of the racing to get it listed on the website yet The part # is TCA004 and lists for $209.95. I will be doing a new product release for them shortly but here is an image to give you an idea of the product-

UMI hands down.

I've been running UMI parts on a road race car for 3 years and they are like they were when installed new. And road racing is VERY hard on parts ... off course excursions, curb hopping, sliding the car through 100+ mph corners for 30-40 minutes at a time, a dozen times over a 2 day period ... not just 10-12 seconds of straightline throttle stabbing.

My luck with BMR parts hasn't been very good ...

My experience ...

I have been using UMI stuff for about 4 years now with no problems. Their stuff graces the suspension of my Turbo Buick and I have their PHB on the Z28. No complaints here, but BMR also makes some good stuff, I have just always been able to get UMI's stuff a little cheaper.

in the end....just buy which ever one you can get cheaper.

My first (and last) experience with UMI was a disaster.

I'm a bit confused here...

You bought a torque arm relocation kit and had trouble with the transmission mount lining up. You were using a Energy Suspension transmission mount which us and many others on this board had trouble with.. we then determined it was the Energy Suspension mount and other members agreed. So why again are we getting blamed for this? I am almost 100% sure with the stock crossmember mount it would fit perfect. If you already tried this I haven't heard anything else regarding it to correct the issue.

Thank you

Mitch- Glad to see the products are still working good

I went with UMI because of price. Both companies were very helpful with my questions, but ultimately speed inc stepped up with an offer I couldn't turn down. Also, the UMI piece vs BMR looks a little beefier, but I didn't know that until after the fact.
