Are those a mix of a poly bushing that pivot like a rod end?

What I didn't like about the Johnny Joints was they are 2.500" wide but the stock control arm mount is 2.400" wide...making for a tight fit. This is why we now have our own bushing design

Hmm.. maybe they changed them, I am not sure... if you get a chance measure the width of them and let me know. Last time I checked all I found was 2.00" wide and 2.500" wide.

Our pictures will be up soon!

Fair enough...Just don't let those jamb nuts come loose on the aluminum threads and you will be fine

So you guys are getting ready to offer something similar? That would be exactly what I am looking for...the only other thing currently available that I know of is offered by Hotpart.

I know UMI has been working on their parts, and have had some prototypes running on the road. I've even held them in my hands.

Last time I looked at the johnny joints @ SEMA they where extremely heavy in weight compared to a rod ends, I guess that's because they where designed for rock crawlers and such. They are a very nice piece just heavy IMO.

I'll pay for heavy parts if they have the NVH of poly without the bind.

I have to agree that Johnny joints are quite overbuilt for even much of the serious drag racing and road racing. Whilst it's nice to see that it's finally available for something that can fit (the 4th Gen F-car has some weird tolerances with regards to the LCA attachment places), I still prefer to run at least one rod-end on the axle-end, because the solid axle design is already laden with plenty of unsprung weight. The only problem left would be that two rod-ends will need replacing, but it sure beats replacing 4.

Anyhow, it's nice to see another thread where discussion of alternate polyurethane/polygraphite bushing design is being considered for use in the rear trailing arms than the usual underengineered designs using two-piece "donut" polybushing. As I've stated before, polyurethane/polygrahite isn't bad per se, it just needs to be engineered properly.
