Default All New Brakes..Problem?

Ok So i just put all new rotors and pads (front and rear) on my car, and i know your supposed to break them in, but i heard thats just B.S. and to just make a few hard stops with them and then they will be fine. So i made a few hard stops and then i got on the highway. I was doing about 90 around light turns and got up to about 120 at some ponits.. i tried not to use the brakes so much.. but i had to hit them to slow down a few times. Now the rear brakes are squeeling like crazy now when i use the brakes while going slow to slowy slow down...... i want to know if could of harmed my pads and rotors from doing that so soon??? BTW i greased all of the proper points.
The Car is a 99 Vette. Sorry for the stupid question.

Might be the brand of pads. Did you wash off the rotors before putting the pads on? There are a lot of things that can cause squeal. Is there any kind of antisqueal on the back of the pads?

the pads that are on there are the raybestos professional grade and the rotors are the oem replacements from raybestos, and i didnt put any antisqueal on the back, but i did use caliper grease. I also washed off each rotor throughly with brake cleaner, although since i greased the clips in the caliper bracket, some grease may have got on the rotor as i was installing the bracket, but i dont think so. Do you think ithe squeal will go away?

It might, but its hard to tell. Does the pad have anything between the thick metal backing plate of the pad, or is the backing plate directly against the caliper. If it doesn't have anything there, then that is probably your problem.

no i put those rubber shims on one side of the pads, since the pads only come with two rubber shims , you can only put them on two pads that they fit on, if you know what i mean

Bedding pads is B.S.? You need to find a better source of information.

You glazed the pads, because you beat on them before they were properly bedded.

You can't always fix it.... You can try breaking it with coarse sand paper on both the pad and rotor and rebedding.... but sometimes the pads just cook the resins and you can't "fix" it.

I'm of no help here other than the fact that I'm in the Breakin-In period for my brakes... It's weird braking lightly from a mile away from the traffic light

P.S. - Sam, sorry I never got with you on the SS brake lines... the budget just wasn't allowing for it. I will think about it in the near future, however.
