4130 vs. Mild Steel SFC's.
What's everyone's take on this? I know the 4130s are stronger and lighter than the mild steel, but by how much? Is it really a noticeable difference going to the 4130? I'm just debating if it's worth spending the extra $100.

We sell quite a few of the chrome moly SFC's.. but we always recommend the mild steel. Mild steel is cheaper and the extra few pounds isn't worth it to me. But some feel it is and that is why we offer both.
If you aren't going for the lightest car in the world then the mild steel would be just fine!
Hope that helps,
Ryan

moly is a stronger metal, but moly steel weighs the same as mild steel. the only reason that its lighters is because the moly tubing is thinner. fwiw, i preffer mild steel only because if you do have a failure, mild steel bends where moly usualy just snaps in my experience (a-arms mostly).
