I think this belongs in the Handling section.
But I wouldn't weld springs except, maybe, at
the very end where they bear no load and with
plenty of wet towels on the rest of the bottom
coil to keep from tempering the spring (bad).
It would probably be easier and safer to drill a
couple of holes in the perch and put a U-bolt or
shackle (maybe two) through it to hold the coil
down tight.
This is nearly a freebie and then you can find
out if it was really the springs, or something
else (LCAs, Panhard, exhaust) slopping around.

Did you remove the cups that sit on top of the springs to level the ride height?
If that is the case you need to put some 5/8 rubber hose around the top coil on both springs...this will quiet things down.
Use some WD-40 or something similar to lubricate the inside of the hose...it will make the job alot easier.
