Question on Lowered Cars

Question on Lowered Cars
My question is I have a stock trans am and bought the Strano springs and haven't installed them yet. I barely can slide my floor jack under the car now at stock height and wondering what everyone is doing on the lower cars? If I drop my car down 1.5" I couldn't use my jack. What's the secret to taking off wheels and working under lowered cars. Thanks

on lowered cars, a two or four post lift is usually required. just about any legit autoshop will have one. another thing to consider is that a great number of lowering components occupy different physical spaces than stock. For example, in lowered trucks, the shocks are completely changed when done right, so you have to place the lift/jack in a different spot so not to mess up anything. The stock lift points are inaccessible when you "Z" the suspension.
On my truck I absolutely have to have a lift to get under the front. The bottom of the strut tower, or whatever it is called on a truck... is in the way of the factory lift point.

I am at -1" (roughly) and do a "racing lift" one side
at a time with a floor jack. I have four Rhino ramps
and put them under the one side and then over to
the other. the first side is easy but the second I
have to pull up on the body to scoot the floor jack
under. The 'vert has a solid enough supplemental
rail to do that, a sedan I wouldn't try. And there's
a strap that makes a handy center-of-gravity mark.
Lift point, schmift point.
You could probably use the scissors jack just to get
clearance for the floor jack.

Buy the ramps from Advanced Auto Parts, once you get the car up on them. You should be able to use your jack under the car. I bought the jack/jack stands from Advanced Auto also, i have no problems getting the small jack under the car at stock height and i think there's enough room to get it under there when im lowered too.

i just changed my wheels today. My car is lowered 1" all around and all i have to do is lift it one wheel at a time. One person lifts the corner of the car a little bit, while another person slides the jack underneath.
