Very easy to change out the tie rod end. Keep the tie rod end attached to the spindle. Loosen the jam nut off the tie rod end and just unscrew. Make sure you get an alignment done after the change.

thanks, do you think if i use a dial caliper to measure everything so i can put it on the exact way it came off would let me not have to get an alignment?

No. You will need to get an alignment after you are done.

hey guys me again, when i looked at the tie rod i saw that it was completely shot, i really cant believe it didnt break on me or anything, but i replaced it, and i have some questions:

1. when replacing the tie rod, i accidentally spun the outer tie rod with the tie rod end off, will that screw the alignment up, or will it be ok?

2. i put the new tie rod on almost exactly how the old one came off, its literally within .05mm, if my car seems to drive fine, how long can i drive it before getting it aligned? I always do work myself, and i will not take my car to a shop other than the one my friend works at.. what im saying is, can i drive it around for a week before i get it aligned

3. can i do an alignment myself?

Bro, just spend the 70 bucks to get a proper alignment. It'll be worth it in the end.

If the car is not pulling and the car goes straight when the steering wheel is streight I probably wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to have it aligned unless you want to change camber/caster/toe settings from what you have.

Camber/Caster and total toe at home is pretty easy to do. Toe/side is much more difficult because you need a reference plain to measure from.

this wll not cause a pull. Toe causes the steering wheel to be off AND/OR the tires to scrub and wear out faster. You most likely wouldnt notice an issue while driving unless the steering wheel is off. But even if the steering wheel is dead center and total toe is off you will wear out both tires sooner than normal.
